According to data from the Ministry of Education, the number of applicants for the national teacher qualification examination jumped from 172,000 in 2012 to 11.442 million in 2022, a 66-fold increase in 10 years. The phenomenon of "teacher craze" has once again become a hot topic in public opinion. (October 29 Guangming.com)
In recent years, the popularity of teaching and materials application has continued to rise, and the number of applicants has soared, and a "teaching and materials fever" has begun to set off across the country. According to data from the Ministry of Education, the number of applicants for teaching qualifications exceeded 10 million for the first time in 2022, and has approached the number of applicants for the college entrance examination. Behind the continuous heating of the "teaching and gift fever", some people are anxious about the social situation of more and more people pursuing "iron rice bowl" in the internal volume society; some people are happy about the increasing threshold for teachers brought about by the fierce competition in teaching and gifts, which has led to the industry progress of improving the overall teacher education level in primary and secondary schools... However, it must be clear that the "teaching and gift fever" is not the same as the "teaching and gift fever", and more and more young people choose to take the teaching and gift exams, which is not the same as wanting to choose the profession of "teacher". In fact, there are many people who want to improve their core competitiveness through the teacher qualification certificate or have more choices for themselves. The emergence of the "teaching and talent fever" actually reflects the confusion and uncertainty of young people's career choice goals and reflects the lack of self-identity.
Teacher Qualification Certificate, as a serious professional qualification certificate, now it often refers to the word "My Parent Happy Certificate" and other words that are being played with. In a seemingly joking tone, contemporary young people helplessly reveal the true realization that the teaching materials are not only happy for their parents, but also for their final career. Looking back at the deeper reason is the difficulty in shaping the self-identity of contemporary young people, and their positioning of their ideals, careers and values is vague in the process of seeking self-development. Don’t know what you want to do or what you want to do, so contemporary young people who have not yet achieved the realization of self-identity have begun a long journey of verification. Teachers, human resources managers, certified public accountants ... I think that a big certificate is worry-free when I work, but I don’t know that blindly verifying without goals will not only not improve my core competitiveness, but may instead cause myself to be constantly consumed during the exam preparation time and time, losing the precious time and energy used to truly cultivate my professional skills and qualities.
For contemporary young people, the most important and urgent thing is to "know yourself", constantly try and error and explore in the university, an inclusive and diverse open platform, to truly find your own love, establish your life goals, and complete the construction of self-identity. At the same time, the school’s college student career planning classroom should also break the rigid thinking, and should not just try it out in the book education stage, but should also understand the real situation of the self-worth needs of contemporary young people. "Only after you know the material things, you will know it." University should help college students actively understand the current social situation and the current industry, and not let students be trapped in the closed dilemma of the ivory tower. Only in this way can they truly play the role of "ferryman".
Young people today are facing greater social pressure. With more teaching materials in hand, it seems that they have a guaranteed card. However, the "teacher craze" reflects the lack of strong professional skills in contemporary young people and gain a sense of security with the help of certificates. However, "teaching credit" is not a guarantee. Behind the joke of "I can't find a job and go home to be a teacher" is the lack of understanding of the teacher profession and the lack of value of youth self-identity. The craze for applying for teachers and grants like this will inevitably become an annual farce, and grants may become a ridiculous "parent happiness certificate".
