Senior high school student Li Yifan is a girl who likes mathematics. He is doing some research on number theory theorems, and has also been involved in linear algebra and group theory in advanced mathematics.

How could he like mathematics? In her opinion, mathematics is a more aesthetic subject in science. "Some proof processes in mathematics are very concise, and this simplicity itself has a kind of beauty. Mathematics is the basis of physics, chemistry and computers, so it also has a theoretical beauty."
Li Yifan admitted that she can also "do the questions". When preparing for the exam, she will also do a lot of questions to improve her "feeling". "By thinking deeply about some questions or doing a lot of questions, it is easier to develop problems when encountering similar questions."
It is common for her to encounter difficulties in the process of learning mathematics. "I have no idea about some questions, but there are always classmates who can solve them quickly." In order to solve a question, she often goes through a thinking process, ranging from one or two hours to one or two weeks. Sometimes when I walk on the road, because I keep thinking about math problems, I can’t help but use my hands to draw pictures in the air.
Three weeks ago, Nobel Prize winner chemistry Michael Levitt held a lecture at Shanghai Middle School. "He spoke in an easy-to-understand manner, and even our Chinese teacher came to listen with great interest." Li Yifan said that she was very happy to have a glimpse of the style of scientists through the "Science T Conference".

Zhang Bohan, a sophomore student at Xuhui Middle School, is obsessed with "looking up at the stars". In order to make more children interested in the starry sky, he designed an AR glasses and put them on them to observe the starry sky. Wherever he looks, he will show signs on the AR glasses.

In this process, the biggest difficulty he encountered was that when the starry sky was not too clear, it was not easy to find the constellations. Fortunately, he was selected for the Shanghai Middle School Students' "Talent Plan". His instructor and professor from the School of Physics of Shanghai Jiaotong University suggested that the specific coordinates of each constellation should be input into the AR glasses database, so that they can be directly positioned without any need to identify them. At present, his idea has been basically realized in the laboratory. Although the effect is not very good, it has greatly stimulated his interest in scientific research.
Will scientific research affect learning? In Zhang Bohan's view, scientific research and learning are not contradictory, but complementary, because the process of scientific research can cultivate creative thinking , divergent thinking and logical thinking, which are of great benefit to learning. Only by developing good learning habits can we continue to do it steadily in scientific research.
