In order to promote the professional development of teachers, strengthen the study of the teaching of ancient Chinese poetry in elementary schools, focus on the cultivation of students' core literacy, strengthen regional exchanges, and give full play to the demonstration, radiation, and leading role of the subject teaching and research base, Qilin District Primary School Chinese (Grade 4-6) On December 23, 2021, the teaching and research base successfully held a regional theme teaching and research activity of "Research on the Teaching Strategies of Ancient Chinese Poetry in Primary Schools Based on Core Accomplishment" in the Teachers Conference Room of Beiguan Primary School.
More than 120 Chinese teachers from the teaching and research section of the District Education and Sports Bureau, Beiguan Primary School, subject teaching and research base, as well as primary schools directly under the district and township and street primary schools participated in the event.
At the beginning of the activity, teacher Jiang Li, a member of the base, presented a demonstration class on "Farewell Poems" theme group essay teaching with a special and melodious poem. Teacher Jiang broke the traditional teaching mode of ancient poetry, and first carried out the overall teaching with the teaching idea of “knowing poets-solving poem questions-clarifying poetic meaning-understanding poetic feelings”, guiding students to grasp imagery and reading through reading, thinking, discussing, and enlightening. Understand poetry, realize emotion, recite poetry and learn "Send Yuan Ershi to Anxi". Then read further poems such as " Sending Du Shao's Mansion to Shuzhou ", "Bu Suanzi Sending Bao Haoran to East Zhejiang" and other farewell poems to guide students to deepen the theme of "Farewell" by comparing the similarities and differences of the poems. Throughout the class, Mr. Jiang focused on students, letting students go to read and understand, and guided them to learn and discover independently with calm instructions. The students were full of interest, and the climax of the class was full of surprises! After class, Mr. Jiang also conducted lectures and teaching reflections.
Next, the host of the base, Tingbo Zhang, conducted a report on the "Survey of the Status Quo of Primary School Pupils' Study of Ancient Poetry and Ci" with 360 students from the fourth to sixth grades of the primary schools directly under the Qilin District and the township and street primary schools in the early stage of the subject base. Teacher Zhang used accurate and detailed data to analyze the current situation of kirin district primary school students’ learning ancient poems from the four aspects of learning interest, learning style, learning effect, and learning environment. The five aspects of using difference point out the problems existing in the pupils' learning ancient poems. Through interviews with teachers in the early stage, Mr. Zhang sorted out and analyzed the teacher’s eight major puzzles in the teaching of ancient poems, and put forward a series of suggestions on ancient poems teaching, which provided a basis for further improving the quality of ancient poems teaching in primary schools in the district.
Subsequently, Zhang Zaiyu, the host of the Zhuyuan Staff Innovation Studio in Qujing City and an outstanding teacher from the province and city, gave a lecture entitled "Teaching Strategies for Primary School Chinese Ancient Poems Based on Core Quality". Taking the core literacy of Chinese as a starting point, he mainly analyzes the purpose and meaning of ancient poetry teaching and the existing problems in ancient poetry teaching from a macro perspective, summarizes the basic laws of ancient poetry teaching, and puts forward five feasible ancient poetry teaching strategies. . Teacher Zhang’s sharing of ancient poetry teaching strategies, focusing on core literacy and student needs, based on teaching goals and classroom teaching, benefited every teacher present!
After the special lecture, Cui Gang from the Teaching and Research Office of the Education and Sports Bureau of Qilin District made comments and summaries. She first affirmed that the regional theme seminar of "Ancient Poetry" in the Subject Teaching and Research Base of Primary School Chinese (Grade 4-6) in Qilin District was really effective and fruitful. : The demonstration class is authentic, simple, and solid; the investigation and analysis report uses facts, data, description, analysis, induction, and summary; special lectures, theoretical support, and effective strategies. She said that the teaching of ancient poems should emphasize reading, strengthen understanding, focus on imagination, and focus on accumulation. Ms. Cui’s wonderful comments brought many gains and thoughts to everyone.
At the end of the activity, the principal of Beiguan Primary School and the head of the subject teaching and research base Ding Shaoxu made a summary and awarded letters of appointment to the members of the subject teaching and research base with the leaders.
This ancient poetry teaching seminar has benefited teachers who listened to the class a lot. It has removed the cloud of confusion about ancient poetry teaching, aroused everyone's in-depth thinking on ancient poetry teaching, and inspired teachers to explore the enthusiasm of ancient poetry teaching. I believe that through this ancient poetry teaching seminar, teachers must have a deeper and more thorough understanding of poetry teaching, and I believe that the wisdom and vigor contained in ancient poetry will continue to lighten the poetic life of teachers and students!
