"Children are too happy now. Baotu provides children with such a good resource, so that they can familiarize themselves with the red culture and history from an early age, and let them know where the happy life comes from today. It's so meaningful!" a parent said excitedly. On October 6, Bao’an District Library·Red Cultural Space welcomed special young readers. They were dressed in dresses and red scarves. Accompanied by their parents, they participated in the "Red Reading Promotion Experience Activity" of Bao’an District Library. They are classmates of Class 5 of 2020, Hongya Primary School, Bao'an District. This is a patriotic education activity organized and carried out by them as a unit of class group.
The activity started, Baotu librarians actively interacted with the students, and introduced the five major areas of red culture, functional layout, red reading promotion activities, and the background of red cultural space construction. Then, I introduced the "Communist Manifesto", a special feature book on red, and told the students the story behind the book creation. Finally, the students watched the documentary "Red Shenzhen" together and learned about the red marks that happened in the city of Shenzhen.
