improves immunity, is that simple? How does
improve children's academic performance? How does
improve the child's immunity?
is the concern of almost all parents, especially when the seasons change and various infectious diseases are rampant, whenever there is a "eating XX can replenish immunity", it can quickly become popular among parents.
A recent study in Finland found that as long as children are exposed to nature, they can effectively increase their resistance!
so simple?
playing in nature for less than a month,
is enough to change the child's immune system!
Research from Science Advances
This research involves 10 daycare centers in 2 cities in Finland, of which 3 daycare centers were originally built in nature and have better natural landscapes as places to play; The 7 are all standard modern daycare centers without lawns and large areas of green plants. The
researchers renovated 4 of the 7 modern day nurseries and transformed them into natural landscapes, while the other 3 remained intact and became the control group.
Left: Before the transformation; Right: After the transformation,
In the transformed daycare center and standard daycare center, children play outdoors for about 0.5 to 2 hours twice a day, and the average outdoor time is 1.5 hours.
At the same time, the 10 daycare centers participating in the event provide children with 3 unified meals (breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks) every day, and 2 central kitchens (1 in each city) will be based on the National Nutrition Committee of the Finnish Food Administration A diet guide for young children is published to prepare daily meals. In all daycare centers, the children’s animal contact, time spent outdoors or in nature, and the number of other siblings are similar.
The study started in May 2016 and ended in June 2016 and lasted for 28 days.
What happened after 28 days? The
researchers set up 3 different environments for the children in these 10 daycare centers: the first group of
children played in the original environment of the nursery as usual; the second group of
was led by the teacher Go outdoors to get in touch with nature every day; the last group of
children play in the remodeled garden, and even the researchers ask the children to help take care of the plants in the pots. After
, the researchers compared the data of the children’s skin and gut microbiome before and after the experiment. The results showed that
before the start of the experiment, compared with children in standard day care centers, children in natural day care centers. The composition of the bacterial community on the skin is different, with the former having more types of bacteria.
In the standard daycare center and the pre-renovation daycare center, the bacterial community of children is similar in composition, and there are equally diverse skin bacterial communities.
However, after the intervention, the children in the transformed daycare center have more types of skin bacteria and bacterial communities than the children in the standard daycare center.
Like the skin, the intestine is also an important organ of our human body. We all know that antibiotics and probiotics have an impact on the intestinal flora. This study also found that as long as more exposure to nature, the microbiome in the body will become more diverse. After the
experiment, compared with the standard daycare center, the bacteria and total bacterial counts in the soil of the modified daycare center are more diverse.
From the above research results, it is not difficult to see that after children are exposed to nature, the diversity of bacteria and colonies in the skin and intestines has increased significantly. The diversity of human flora is closely related to immunity, which can effectively improve children's immunity.
is close to nature, healthier!
When we are in contact with nature, we expose ourselves to a wide range of microorganisms, which activates different parts of the immune system. In order to protect the natural development of the immune system, the researchers suggested: “We should change our daily lives and be in contact with nature more. It is best for children to play in puddles and mud on the grass.”
You will allow Does the child play like this?
But now, more and more children are living in urban areas, and they have limited access to forests and other natural resource-rich areas. In addition, the green surrounding the urban environmentThe colored areas are often polluted by pests and pathogenic microorganisms. Therefore, our children have fewer and fewer opportunities to contact nature.
In order to improve immunity, parents take great pains and want to try all kinds of methods, but are they really used correctly?

4zsupplements with vitamin C
I don’t know when vitamin C has become popular, and everything can have something to do with it.
But in fact, many experts believe that vitamin C is a bit like a scam, because in most countries people already get enough vitamin C from their diet and do not need additional supplements. In fact, unless the child is really deficient in vitamins, taking vitamin supplements has no additional benefit to the immune system.

Supplementing probiotics
Actually, there is a big question mark whether probiotics can help our children improve immunity. Studies have shown that supplementing probiotics may be effective in improving immunity, but the evidence is still insufficient. More importantly, there is no uniform standard for the use of probiotics both internationally and domestically. How to use it and how long it lasts is a problem.

All kinds of health products to improve immunity
With the improvement of living standards, parents pay attention to their children, and various health products that claim to improve immunity emerge in endlessly. In this regard, all parents must learn to say "no".
If these health products are really so powerful, they would have won the "Nobel" long ago, instead of coming to you and selling them door to door. (What's more, the higher the immune system is, the better! For details, see who has the stronger immunity when I get sick frequently vs. I don't get sick?)
Then, how to improve the immunity of a child?
The easiest way is to let the child get in touch with nature more as we said above, which can enrich the child's "bacterial virus library" and prevent the child's immune system from being overly active.
At the same time, getting enough activity in the process of contact with nature can also effectively improve the child's immunity.
should be vaccinated on time, so that the child has a balanced diet and good sleep habits.
does the above, so parents don’t have to worry too much about their children’s immunity.
