Thomas Chez divides the temperament types from birth to pre-children into easy, difficult and slow.
3. Slow type
Thomas Chez research found that about 15% of the young children's temperament belongs to the warmth type. This type of children with low activity level and reaction intensity are always in a negative and unpleasant state. However, unlike difficult children, they do not cry loudly, but show a quiet, retreating, and depression. They often take evasive responses to new stimuli and new things and adapt to changes in the external environment slowly. They will slowly become interested in new things and gradually adapt to the new environment. As this type of children grows older, with different adult caress and educational situations, the growth and development of individuals will also be severely differentiated.
Brazelton divides baby temperament into three basic types.
1. Activity type
Typical activity type has well confirmed their temperament characteristics since they are born, because they always come to the world with "crying and making a fuss". Their crying was always random, and they started crying and cried without any external stimulation. Regarding daily caregivers' behaviors of taking care of questions, such as dressing and washing, straightening their feet, and resisting care. I cried immediately after waking up, and there seemed to be no obvious transitional stage between deep sleep and loud crying. Every feeding is a battle for the mother.

2. Quiet type
Quiet type babies are inactive since birth. They always lie quietly on the bed, rarely having excited mood swings, and their movements are soft and slow, and they like to look around with their big eyes open. They are always calm, and when facing various behaviors of caregivers, they just open their eyes and frown, and they don't cry, and they don't even cry when they get injections.
3. General type
General type babies are between the first two categories. Most babies fall into this category. Blazeelton pointed out that parents of lively and quiet babies often worry about whether their children's physical and mental health is normal. In fact, this is unnecessary. Their temperaments are different, but these babies are normal children.
Temperament types and manifestations of young children
3-9-year-old children's temperament is a multi-dimensional whole composed of five dimensions: emotionality, activity, responsiveness, social inhibition and concentration. Among them, the activity dimension is the most stable dimension and is least affected by the environment. The emotionality, responsiveness, social inhibition and concentration all change and develop with age, and their turning point age is different. The temperament of children in my country generally develops and changes with age, and 3-5 years old is the key age for development and change. At the same time, there are gender differences, mainly manifested in the high concentration level of girls, the high level of activity and the more unstable mood of boys.
China's children's temperament can be divided into five types: active type, focus type, inhibitory type, balanced type and agile type. Children of all ages have these five temperament types.

Active type
vigorous, active, and have a large amount of activity; emotions are prone to excitement and unstable; external stimuli include general reactions to cognitive activities; general adaptability and flexibility to the environment and people; poor persistence and easy distraction;
Focus type
focus on persistence, strong persistence and poor attention separation;
focus on persistence, strong persistence and poor attention separation Dispersed; like quiet activities and small amount of activity; stable emotions, not easy to disperse, and strong tolerance; responses to external stimuli include general cognitive activity response;
inhibitory
has poor adaptability to the environment and people, retreat, and is shy; dislike activities with large exercise volume: stable emotions, not easy to be excited: responses to external stimuli includes low response levels of cognitive activities: strong persistence, and poor attention distraction.

Equilibrium type (intermediate type)
Emotional stability: moderate activity intensity time: response to various stimuli; adaptability to the environment and people is generally: moderate attention to persistence.
Agile
has a strong sense of sensitivity to various external stimuli, is sensitive, responds quickly, accepts new things quickly: has a long attention span, is easy to concentrate but not easily dispersed; the activity intensity and time are moderate, and adapts to the environment and people quickly and flexibly; emotional performance is relatively stable and positive.
