According to fiercetelecom report on July 14, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced in May the launch of the Biden administration’s “Internet for All” plan. The plan will invest $45 billion (as available funding) to provide affordable, reliable high-speed Internet to everyone in the United States. The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) of the U.S. Department of Commerce announced on July 13 that a total of 50 states in the United States have submitted application procedures.

In addition to the $42.5 billion BEAD program, NTIA oversees the $1 billion Enabling the Middle Mile Broadband Infrastructure program and the $1.5 billion state Digital Equity Act program. States and territories interested in the digital equity program submitted applications on July 12.
U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo ( Gina Raimondo) said: "I commend U.S. state and territory leaders for taking this important first step to provide equitable access to high-speed internet to the people they serve. ."
