November 3, at the 2022 Cloud Conference, Alibaba Cloud Intelligent President Zhang Jianfeng announced that Yitian 710 has successfully deployed applications on a large scale, becoming China's first self-developed CPU for large-scale cloud applications. In the future, Alibaba Cloud will continue to expand the scale of self-developed CPU deployment, and 20% of the new computing power will use self-developed chips in the next two years.
At present, Yitian 710 has been deployed on a large scale in Alibaba Cloud data center and serves Alibaba and many Internet technology companies in the form of cloud. The official said that the cost-effectiveness of computing power has increased by more than 30%, and the unit computing power consumption has been reduced by 60%. This is China's first self-developed CPU for large-scale cloud applications. In addition, in order to solve the bandwidth bottleneck under high concurrency conditions of cloud computing, Yitian 710 integrates the industry's most advanced technologies such as DDR5, PCIe5.0 in terms of memory and interfaces, which can effectively improve the transmission rate of the chip. At the same time, Alibaba has also made special optimization designs for on-chip Internet. Through the new flow control algorithm, it can effectively alleviate system congestion, thereby improving system efficiency and scalability, and adapting to different cloud application scenarios.
It is worth mentioning that in June this year, Alibaba Cloud officially released a dedicated processor designed for a new cloud data center - CIPU (Cloud infrastructure Processing Units), which can quickly cloud the computing, storage and network resources of data centers and accelerate hardware.
According to reports, thanks to Alibaba's self-developed CIPU processor and its self-developed cloud computing operating system - Feitian Operating System, the cloud instance based on Yitian 710 has realized the collaborative optimization of chips, computing architecture and operating system for the first time, significantly improving the cost-effectiveness of computing power. At the same time, Alibaba Cloud can provide rich ecological tools to support full application ecosystem adaptation, and 0 code modifications can complete mainstream business migration.
At present, Yitian 710 cloud instance has been applied to Alibaba Group core business, and serves scientific research, the smartphone industry and many well-known Internet companies. According to official reports, during the Double 11 period in 2021, Tmall Double 11 core trading system was smoothly migrated to the Yitian 710 cloud instance, with the cost-effectiveness of computing power increased by 30%; Huili Technology's advertising inference business used the Yitian 710 cloud instance, and the performance and network bandwidth were both improved, with the cost-effectiveness increased by more than 40%.
In the past thirteen years, Alibaba Cloud has continued to deepen its efforts in the fields of cloud operating systems, databases, storage, networks and chips and has achieved a series of important results.
