According to Apple CEO Tim Cook (Tim Cook), the product lineup of Apple this year has been "confirmed".
For several months, there have been rumors that Apple will launch new M2-based Macs by the end of this year — especially the MacBook Pro and Mac mini models equipped with new M2 Pro or M2 Max chips. But now, two usually reliable insiders of and Apple CEO Tim Cook said said the new computers will be available in early March next year.
In a recent conference call with investors last week, Cook started with "our product lineup has been confirmed as the holiday approaches", suggesting that Apple will not release new hardware products in 2022.
In addition, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said a few weeks ago on Twitter that he expects the new MacBook Pro to be available in early 2023.
After Cook's investor call, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman said in a weekly newsletter on Sunday that the new Mac computer could be available in early March next year.
Mark Gulman wrote that Apple plans to closely link the release time of new hardware to the release time of macOS Ventura 13.3 and iOS 16.3, which is expected to be released sometime in February or March. He also predicts that iOS 16.2 will be released sometime in December this year. As for Mac's hardware, Mark Gulman claims that the new laptops will not have new designs or major new features to distinguish them from the 2021 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, but they will include Apple's next-generation Pro and Max chips, the M2 Pro and the M2 Max.
He said that the M2 Max will have 12 CPU cores and 38 GPU cores, while in the last MacBook Pro update at the end of 2021, the M1 Max has 10 and 32 processor cores respectively. Earlier this year, Apple launched the low-end brother M2, the M2 Max in its latest design MacBook Air, and mysteriously launched it in the 13-inch MacBook Pro. Since then, M2 has entered iPad Pro, and more products may be available.
