On October 13, the first express intelligent distribution center for Pakistan built by Cainiao, a Chinese company, was officially delivered and put into use in Karachi , with a construction period of only two months. The distribution center is affiliated to Daraz, a well-known local e-commerce company, and will become one of the technologically advanced logistics infrastructure in South Asia.
It is reported that the distribution center is the first in-depth collection intelligent project to be delivered overseas by Cainiao . Cainiao independently designed, developed and obtained the EU CE certification of the cross-belt sorter and other core equipment, PLC with independent intellectual property rights, related electronic control overall solutions, and "cloud-edge integrated" WCS are all used in this project to ensure high-quality and stable operation of intelligent facilities.
Daraz Pakistan Chief Operating Officer Ahmed Tanveer said that the smart distribution center will increase Daraz's current express sorting efficiency by more than 4 times and reduce human error by more than 90%, thus benefiting the company's entire business and improving the customer experience. The distribution center can handle a maximum daily parcel processing capacity of up to 420,000, meeting the business growth needs in the next 5-10 years.
Daraz is a famous e-commerce platform in South Asia. It was founded in Pakistan in 2012. Its business covers Pakistan, Bangladesh , Sri Lanka, Nepal and Myanmar, covering the consumer market of nearly 500 million people. As an emerging market for e-commerce, the strong consumption momentum in South Asia has also driven the rapid growth of Daraz's business. Data shows that the transaction volume on Daraz's "Double 11" in 2021 increased by 13 times compared with the daily life and 7 times compared with Double 11 in 2020. However, backward logistics infrastructure is becoming a bottleneck restricting the development of e-commerce. Logistics experience from China will help the local area quickly make up for its shortcomings.

It is reported that Cainiao has built hundreds of automated distribution centers of different sizes in China, and has also built 10 self-operated distribution centers in Europe, Asia, America and other places.
