Recently, the General Office of the National Health Commission issued a notice on issuing the standards for setting up national critical care medicine centers and national critical care regional medical centers, further promoting the expansion of high-quality medical resources and regional balanced layout, leading the development of medical science and the improvement of overall medical service capabilities.
National Critical Care Medicine Center shall meet the following basic conditions:
- Grade A comprehensive hospital, critical care medicine department , and a critical care medicine teaching and research department.
(II) The critical care medicine department has been approved for the construction of national key clinical specialties, and is equipped with a reasonable number of isolation wards. According to the requirements of the "Guidelines for the Construction and Management of Critical Care Medicine (Trial)", the ratio of practicing physicians and beds in critical care medicine majors is not less than 0.8:1, and the ratio of nurses and beds is not less than 3:1.
(III) In the past three years, the intensive care medicine department has admitted an average of ≥2,000 patients per year, of which 50% have scored 15 points in the acute physiological and chronic health score (APACHE II) and 50% have received invasive mechanical ventilation.
(IV) has a complete medical quality control system and a national or provincial (autonomous region, municipal)-level critical care medicine medical quality control and improvement center.
National critical care regional medical centers should meet the following basic conditions:
(I) Class A comprehensive hospital with a intensive care medicine department and a critical care medicine teaching and research department.
(II) The critical care medicine department has been approved for the construction of national key clinical specialties, and the isolation wards are equipped with a reasonable number. According to the requirements of the "Guidelines for the Construction and Management of Critical Care Medicine Departments (Trial)", the ratio of practicing physicians and beds in critical care medicine majors is not less than 0.8:1, and the ratio of nurses and beds is not less than 3:1.
(III) In the past three years, the average annual number of patients admitted ≥1,600, of which 50% of patients with acute physiological and chronic health score (APACHE II) scored 15 points, and 50% of those receiving invasive mechanical ventilation.
(IV) has a complete medical quality control system and a provincial (autonomous region, municipal) or above critical care medicine medical quality control and improvement center. The
setting standard also puts forward specific requirements for five items including medical service capabilities, teaching capabilities, scientific research capabilities, assuming public health tasks and social welfare situations, implementing medical reform-related tasks and hospital management situations of the two types of centers.
In addition, the National Health Commission has also released a list of difficult and critical diseases including more than 60 types of diseases such as severe infectious diseases, as well as a list of core technologies related to critical care medicine, including more than 50 technologies such as intravascular pressure monitoring.
