Sigmund Freud is the founder of the school of psychoanalysis and the most famous psychologist in history. His theories have deeply influenced the entire psychological world. His book "The Interpretation of Dreams " is considered to be the formal formation of psychoanalytic psychology .

He created a new field of subconscious research, promoted the development of dynamic psychology, personality psychology and abnormal psychology, laid a new foundation for the modern medical model, and provided an important theoretical pillar for the Western humanities in the 20th century.

Freud has always been interested in China. The collections in his library include "Early Chinese Jade" by British writer Una Pope-Hennessy, and "The Birth of China" by American sinologist Creel Herrlee Glessner in 1923, which is a census record of the formation period of Chinese civilization.

Freud was proud that his works had been translated into Chinese during his lifetime. The 1933 Chinese version of "Lectures on Psychoanalysis" was translated by Gao Juefu (1896-1993), a pioneer of Chinese psychoanalysis and psychology, and is also one of his collections.

In 1938, in order to escape the Nazis, Freud and his family fled the Nazi-occupied Vienna, came to London, England, and settled in No. 20 Mansfield Gardens is now the Freud Museum. The Freud Museum was Freud's final residence in his later years.

Here you can see more than 2,000 antiques and more than 1,600 books from Freud's collection. Most of these antique collections come from Egypt,Greece,Romanand China.

One of the most famous pieces of furniture in the world, Freud's psychoanalytic sofa was often used by his patients during his studies. The Persian rugs and cushions that match the sofa are still placed here.

Freud and the Epidemic
