I don’t know if it’s related to the industry I’m in, or it’s personal reasons. Having worked in a chemical company for a long time, I have seen many employees with excessive anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
I admit that I have severe obsessive-compulsive disorder. For example, when I go downstairs and suddenly forget to lock the door, I have to go up and take a look again. Even though the car is locked, I still don’t trust myself, so I have to look again. Originally, I was not a careful person, but after I started working in the chemical industry, my master forced me to change my "almost" thinking. The required indicators should be as high as possible, otherwise accidents would easily occur. I have also seen safety education videos where a big explosion occurred because the ingredients were mixed for ten seconds longer.
The accident was terrible! So with severe obsessive-compulsive disorder, I would see a construction site on the road and touch my head to see if I was wearing a safety helmet. You must take the escalator to go upstairs! Otherwise there is no sense of security.
A colleague in the class was even more exaggerated. When he met another colleague at a large gathering, he had to let the colleague go and told him the problems that occurred at work, which ones needed to be corrected, and which ones needed to be controlled. My colleague was completely speechless!
Could this be said to be a legendary occupational disease?
