At that time, I thought it was just a normal seasonal infectious disease, and I didn’t pay attention to it after forwarding it. The day before New Year’s Eve, the director notified everyone that the epidemic was severe, and all employees went to work normally the next day. At that time, my colleagues only had news and documents on the new coronavirus. The alcohol, disinfectant and protective clothing stored in the hospital could only be used for one week. On the first day of the Lunar New Year, we selected 6 staff members to participate in the Duanjieqiao joint prevention and control duty point, and began to investigate and monitor the returning people. At 6 o'clock in the morning, the lights of all departments were on, and the colleagues on duty began to prepare protective supplies. The doctors stayed in the hospital began to collect information on home monitoring of returning people, and the information entry and report. The hospital entered an unprecedented busy state. This work was also carried out silently in 41,636 townships in China.
Difficulties are like a mirror, and the best reflection often comes from this. Faced with the epidemic, medical experts isolated the strains as quickly as possible. On January 20, 2020, Academician Zhong Nanshan first proposed that the new coronavirus is a disease transmitted by human contact, which has largely bought time for epidemic prevention and control; medical staff actively participated in this battlefield without gunpowder, and Dr. Zhang Jixian was the first to report the epidemic, building a "Great Wall" to block the spread of the new coronavirus epidemic; the people cooperated with epidemic prevention policies, were isolated at home, and even thousands of ordinary volunteers like Sun Bo emerged. The winter of 2020 may be the proudest moment in my life. My motherland, nation and my compatriots fought a great battle with 1.4 billion people sharing the same hatred for the enemy on 9.6 million square kilometers of land. Although many of us are just staying at home and waiting for the soldiers ahead to blow the trumpet of victory, I know that my 1.4 billion compatriots are working hard. We will wait for spring to arrive, work hard not to give the new crown any chance, and work hard to do anything we can do in the face of the epidemic. This is an epic of 1.4 billion people, an epic that is unique in human history. This winter, some people sacrifice their lives, some people wait for dawn, some people sweat, and some people fall forever. These are the souls of the nation we must remember.
Standing in 2022, looking back at Xiaose, in this protracted war with the epidemic, we did not sit still. Through a lot of research and practice, we have effectively curbed the spread of the epidemic. In the three years of fighting against the epidemic, our country has invested huge manpower and material resources, constantly asking questions, what is the new coronavirus? How to prevent and control it? How to increase the positive detection rate, shorten the diagnosis time, and strive for prevention and control time? How to orderly promote the resumption of work and production after the epidemic is over; to solve problems, continuously improve the diagnosis and treatment standards of the new coronavirus, adopt nucleic acid sampling and testing methods, determine positive patients faster, improve isolation methods, develop new coronavirus vaccines, and increase the cure rate after infection, etc.; in the process of raising questions and solving problems, continuously improve epidemic prevention measures, and I always firmly believe that in this battle with the new coronavirus epidemic, we will eventually usher in victory.
