Drinking habits are constantly changing. While alcohol companies once used funky characters and bright designs to catch the eye of younger audiences, this demographic has changed and been replaced by a more progressive generation. Enter Ceria Brewing Company, which is listening to its audience by producing alcohol-free beers that appeal to their more discerning palettes.

Helmed by beer guru and Blue Moon creator Keith Villa, Ceria Brewing Company has already made an impact with its beers that respect traditional brewing techniques while embracing innovation. However, in order to prepare for the next phase of growth, it was decided that now was the time for a fresh new look, courtesy of Mother Design.

Under the brand positioning of “beverages reinvented for modern life,” the new look respects Ceria Brewing Company’s ethos that drinks should enhance our lives, bringing people together, rather than dividing or hindering them. Setting its sights on a young, progressive and urban audience known as “mindful inmbibers”, the rebrand includes a new wordmark, monogram, typography, packaging design and more. Elements such as the

wordmark encapsulate a combination of Ceria’s traditional influences and future-proof details. Carefully crafted to strike a lasting balance between tradition and innovation, it's the perfect distillation of everything the brewing company stands for.

Meanwhile, symbols appearing in the brand include Ceres, the goddess of agriculture and cereal crops. Featuring iconographic brews of alcohol-free beverages and full-body views of THC-infused products, the symbol showcases simplified functionality that gives it modern, universal appeal.

The image composed of leaf-like elements using wheat florets helps to further inform the design, as does the monogram in a modern traditional lettering approach. As for the color palette, it's about feeling bright, sophisticated, differentiated and delicious.

’s upbeat and authentic photography concluded the rebrand. Hopefully this will inspire consumers to drink the way they want, with photography capturing the reality of the different ways people interact with the product.

“As a design firm, working with the Villa family is inspiring for us and we are extremely proud that Mother Design has played a role in the development and growth of the company,” said Mark Sloan, director of Mother Design.
