Just after the summer solstice of the Renyin year , as a disciple of the Zhengyi Changchun sect, I had the honor to accompany my teacher to Kunming, Yunnan. During the Nandou Dharma Conference, I visited Longquan Temple, the birthplace of the Zhengyi Changchun sect.
The Zhengyi Changchun sect was introduced to Yunnan by the Ming Dynasty Gaodao Changchun real person Liu Yuanran founder. During the Yongle period of Emperor Chengzu of the Ming Dynasty , after the founder was exiled to Yunnan for disobeying the powerful, he accepted Shao Riyun, Jiang Rihe and others as his disciples. Jiang Rihe passed on to Xu Daoguang, Yu Daochun, Zhang Daohong, Bai Daoqing, etc., making the sect more prosperous, and Longquan Temple became the ancestral home of Yunnan Taoism, a blessing.
Qing Dynasty Governor of Yunnan and Guizhou Ruan Yuan According to the record in "Hanshu Geography" that " there is a Blackwater Temple in Yizhou ", it is determined that Longquan Temple is the location of the ancient Blackwater Temple. Therefore, Longquan Temple is also known as " Central Yunnan It has the reputation of "an ancient temple".
We set out from Garlic Village where we stayed in the early morning, walked through the narrow and crowded village road after the rain, and walked a few hundred meters to the main road. Only then did the ground begin to feel dry and clear. Walking from the urban village, where people of all colors live together, to Longquan Temple, a thousand meters away, is like a journey from the mundane world to a quiet and natural wonderland.
Longquan Temple is located in Heilongtan Park. Shuo Qing, a poet from the Qing Dynasty, wrote a poem: "Two plum blossom trees and one pool of water, misty rain and clouds halfway up the mountain in all seasons", which summarizes the main landscape and natural scenery of Black Dragon Pool. The "Tai Chi Pool" in front of the Black Dragon Palace is the "one pool of water" in the poem. What is particularly strange is that the water in the two pools is clear on one side and muddy on the other. The clear and muddy pools are connected, but their colors are completely different, and the fish in the two pools do not interact with each other. .
Along the mountain road, we wandered in the park where birds were singing, flowers were fragrant, green trees were shady, and the ponds were quiet. Even in the hot summer, you still felt cool here. Kunming's spring-like climate all year round makes it easy for people from all over the country to adapt. Not far away is the archway with the plaque "Purple Ji Xuandu" hanging on it. The thousand-year-old Longquan temple can be seen here.
This is really a spiritual and spiritual place suitable for cultivation. As soon as they entered the temple, they saw two ancient trees that had been struck by lightning, standing on the left and right sides of the Thunder Temple. It was unknown what year, month, day and what was practicing here to overcome tribulations. No wonder the ancient trees in front of the Patriarch's Hall are hung with warning signs saying "Tourists should not approach during thunderstorms." In addition to the thunder-struck ancient trees, there are also Tang plum trees, Song cypress trees, Ming tea trees, and many hundreds of years old trees scattered in front of different temples.
There are squirrels jumping among the ancient bamboo forests and stone fence roofs. They are not afraid of humans. From time to time they will go down to the ground to collect food. They will also carefully pick up the food enshrined on the altar and disappear into the shadow of the trees with a "swish"...

I heard from the priests that the volunteers in the temple arrived early every morning, and every corner of the temple had been cleaned spotlessly before everyone arrived. While we were chanting sutras and repenting in the hall with the Taoist priests, the volunteers had quietly tidied up the interior and exterior of the rest room, and after our Dharma session was over, it was back to as clean and tidy as new. These devout, polite, pale-haired, and silent volunteer teams, inspired by their faith, silently contribute to the Taoist priests, like the spring breeze blowing on the face, making people feel warm and considerate.
html The old Taoist priests who inherited the Dharma lineage more than 1 years ago, under the inspiration of the ancestors, returned to Taoist temples and refined the Changchun School's immortal music, musical instrument performance, and scripture chanting exercises. Since then, Longquan Templeโs religious rituals have continued to follow the ancient system, adhere to the tradition, and inherit and carry forward the Changchun rituals, sutras, and confessions.
Master Hu Daochang is responsible for teaching Taoist music. He is very talented in music, but he modestly said that he doesnโt actually read music very well. He can sing just by listening to the music. He can do it himself, and then teach others sentence by sentence. .
"In the first few classes, the janitors all sang along, and those who painted murals on the side also learned to paint murals. There were a few who couldn't teach..." Director Hu talked about the difficulties in the teaching experience, and let Everyone couldn't stop laughing. After changing clothes after the puja, he would always take out the flute and play a piece. Inheriting skills does require good skills, as well as diligent practice like him.
Taoist priest Hu played us a libretto recorded by an old Taoist priest on the eve of his ascension to immortality. He was still singing sutras with great vigor. Each sentence continued the sound of more than 600 years ago, and the lingering sound echoed in the main hall of the Nandou Dharma Assembly... โฆThe drums beat in bursts, and the sound struck my soul and resonated with my body. My tears flowed out silently, and my whole body and mind were cleansed.
During the Dharma Conference, there were intensive sutra repentance activities. I followed one in the morning and was so exhausted that I went back to Fusheng Hall to rest. Before I could finish the glass of water, I saw a tall and thin Taoist priest returning to the main hall. , continuing his noon homework as usual, with the sound of wooden fish and the sound of fairy music. His diligence is admirable.
Outside the main hall, believers would come and kneel down devoutly. When I saw an elderly person unable to stand, the Taoist priest who was nearby would quickly go out to help and take care of him, and then come back to continue his work. Many small and ordinary details show the compassion and kindness from the heart of Taoists.
The Taoist priests of Longquan Temple seem to be of different ages and backgrounds, and the length of time they have spent in the temple is also different. However, when everyone puts on their robes and starts chanting sutras and performing Dharma, they become a very harmonious whole. At this moment and here, the knocking of magical instruments, the playing of musical instruments, and the chanting of sutras stir together in the aura of heaven and earth in the Black Dragon Pond of Wulao Mountain. With the blessing of the Taoist ancestors of all ages, their belief in The piety is vividly displayed.
After the ceremony, we were walking back to our residence. A Taoist priest came up and passed by us. "Did you just come here?" He greeted us leisurely.
Yes, we have just come here. We are fortunate to have so many good karma and achievements, we have borrowed land to practice and experience a quiet and natural religious life; and the road to cultivation and enlightenment still needs a lifetime to complete.
This road is full of unknowns and changes, with obstacles and smooth roads, broad roads and narrow roads... We are also very lucky. We have the inheritance and blessing of our ancestors, and the care and love of our elders. This road will definitely be successful. To the avenue!
