Preface
Early in 1942, Shandong, China.
On the Qingxi Plain in Shandong Province, the heroic Eighth Route Army created a miracle.
Under the crazy sweep of the Japanese army, a deputy battalion commander of the Eighth Route Army led a company of more than 90 people. He was not afraid of the Japanese army with a force of more than 40 times higher than him. He even broke through the encirclement from the Japanese army's nose, and he had no shortage of soldiers.
The deputy battalion commander of the Eighth Route Army is Han Ziheng of the Shandong guerrillas. After this incident, he was admired by many Eighth Route Army soldiers for his heroic performance during the war and was also called the "Pili Pioneer".
His heroic deeds are more than this. Today we will enter his life together and see the contributions made by this heroic warrior to the Chinese revolution.
1. Han Ziheng
1906, Han Ziheng was born in Tangkou, Shandong. With a relatively affordable family, he went from Gao Qingshan to study in Changshan Middle School in Zouping County. Here he received patriotic education. His ideological progress was rapid. He was very angry about the current situation of China's continuous fall and being divided by the great powers, hoping to save the country and the people through his own efforts.
After the "July 7" incident in 1937, Han Ziheng hated the Japanese invaders even more. Faced with the current situation of the country's invasion, he was full of passion and called on his fellow villagers and friends to discuss the anti-Japanese plan.
In order to strengthen the anti-Japanese momentum, he learned Western parades and called on and organized young people with aspiring to take to the streets, using the "lottery" game to expose the shameless behavior of the Japanese to pass by, and also organized anti-Japanese volunteer activities to donate money and materials.
During the Anti-Japanese War, Han Ziheng fought hard in the Shandong War Zone and made many extraordinary achievements, making significant contributions to the revolutionary cause. It was not until 1943 that the Japanese army launched a large-scale and long-term sweep in Shandong. Han Ziheng fought bravely with the Japanese army and was seriously injured by the Japanese army. He was unwilling to be captured and died heroically at the age of 37.

2. Han Ziheng's heroic deeds
Established the Sixth District Self-Defense Force
Five months after the " July 7 Incident ", the Japanese army's invasion came to Shandong.
The Japanese army sent 20,000 soldiers to cross the Yellow River , and divided the troops into two groups to attack Jinan, Shandong and the areas near Zhoucun. The Japanese army also sent fighter to bomb the Zouping County where Han Ziheng once studied.
Sadly, for a moment, all officials in the county town "disappeared". It turned out that the arrival of the Japanese army scared the Kuomintang officials who were doing evil on weekdays. Most of the officials packed up their fine lines overnight and took their families to run away early.
In December 1937, Han Ziheng's party was appointed as the squadron leader of the sixth district of Changshan County, Shandong Province.
Han Ziheng received an order from the organization to ask him to "mobilize the masses to actively fight against Japan."
Faced with the repeated raids of the Japanese invaders and the bullying and trampling on the people of China, Han Ziheng understood that he needed to develop revolutionary armed forces and could also protect the people at critical moments. For this reason, he founded the "United Village" anti-Japanese organization. The vital forces are young and middle-aged people in various villages in the six districts and anti-Japanese activists, and established the armed self-defense organization in the six districts.
Xiaoqinghe Battle
In January 1938, the Shandong People's Anti-Japanese and National Salvation Army learned that there was a Japanese motorboat that would drive to Yangjiaogou from Jinan. On the way, it would pass through the Xiaoqinghe River Basin. It is said that there were Japanese commanders on it. They decided to launch a cross-strait attack on the Japanese army. When the National Salvation Army learned that Han Ziheng's "United Village" anti-Japanese organization was not far from Xiaoqing River, they sent people to seek cooperation. Because they had a common purpose, the two sides quickly reached an agreement.
Han Ziheng led more than ten people to set up an ambush on the north bank of Xiaoqing River. At noon on January 19, he finally waited for the arrival of the Japanese army.
The Japanese army's motorboat was loaded with military supplies, which made Han Ziheng nervous and a little excited. This was his first time on the battlefield to fight with the Japanese army. It was inevitable that he would be nervous, but the piles of supplies really made him jealous.

In this battle, Han Ziheng's combat command was very calm. He told his men: " Don't be nervous or anxious, wait until the Japanese yacht gets close before fighting."
It was not until he heard the sound of Shandong Anti-Japanese and National Salvation Army firing on the other side of the river that Han Ziheng ordered the attack.
The sudden attack caused the Japanese army on the yacht to be disorganized. Many Japanese soldiers were shot dead before they could react. Some Japanese troops jumped into the river and wanted to swim ashore, but were killed by Han Ziheng one by one.
Han Ziheng also led his men to quickly rush onto the yacht while he was unprepared. The goal was clear. The first thing he wanted to kill was the Japanese army who drove the motorboat. The others cooperated to restrain the other Japanese troops on the motorboat. In less than a while, Han Ziheng controlled the yacht and forced the motorboat to be parked.
The large batch of supplies on the motorboat made Han Ziheng not return empty-handed. After seizing these supplies, Han Ziheng was very happy. This means that the problem of insufficient weapons for United Village personnel was solved, and United Village can also further develop and expand with these equipment.
As the news of winning battles spread throughout the Qinghe area, there were endless people coming to sign up for the army, which suddenly surged to more than 120 people.
This ambush killed a total of 12 senior Japanese staff officers and above, and even killed a Japanese brigade commander, seizing many weapons, equipment and military supplies. The villagers near
were very excited to deliver food and meat to the soldiers when they heard that the Chinese army had defeated the Japanese.
The victory of the Xiaoqinghe Battle greatly inspired the revolutionary enthusiasm of Shandong to fight against Japan, and also allowed the Eighth Route Army to establish a certain mass base in the Qinghe area and even the entire Shandong area. In the hearts of the people, the Japanese army became no longer terrible.
Not long after, Han Ziheng's United Village was adapted and collected by the Eighth Route Army into the Third Detachment of Shandong People's Anti-Japanese Guerrillas, and continued to fight with the Japanese army. Han Ziheng also served as the company commander of the Fourth Company. In October of the same year, Han Ziheng officially joined the Communist Party of China.

Established Qinghe Anti-Japanese Base
In 1940, the Third Detachment of Shandong People's Anti-Japanese Guerrillas where Han Ziheng was located was sent to the vast plain area in the north of Xiaoqinghe for development and establishing a revolutionary base.
At that time, the activities of Japanese and puppet troops in the Qinghe Plain area were extremely rampant. The whereabouts of the third detachment were also discovered by the Japanese army. The Japanese army strictly blocked the railways along the line, and the puppet army also frequently harassed and attacked the Eighth Route Army.
Faced with the annoying harassment, the army's marching speed was constantly delayed, and the long-term harassment made many soldiers feel tired. The army's target was too big and could not hide its tracks. The army's commander decided to break the troops into pieces and rush to the destination in multiple ways.
Han Ziheng, who was the deputy battalion commander of the Third Detachment at the time, led the entire battalion to fight bravely, broke through the obstruction of the puppet army, and hid in his hometown, Tangkou, Shandong. Here, Han Ziheng was like a fish in water, actively mobilized the villagers to fight against Japan, spread red ideas, and attracted many young and middle-aged people from several nearby villages to join the army.
In March, Han Ziheng and Instructor Li went to a nearby village to do mass work, but they did not expect that the traitors noticed. After Han Ziheng learned that the traitors left the village, he knew that they would have a battle with the Japanese army. He called on the soldiers of the entire battalion to actively prepare for the war and give the Japanese army a headache, fearing them and hurting them.
As expected, after the Japanese army learned the news, they dispatched a large brigade of troops nearby to attack. The soldiers who went to investigate sent the letter back, and Han Ziheng made sufficient preparations, and set a distance between them and the masses' residences early, leading the entire battalion of soldiers hidden under the earth wall at the entrance of the village. When the enemy was less than fifty meters away from the earth wall, the bullets and grenades and hit the Japanese army like raindrops. The two sides fought fiercely, and the firepower battle did not stop until dusk.
After a while, the enemy gathered again to prepare for the attack. Considering that the enemy's reinforcements were already on the road, they would probably be surrounded if they stayed. After discussing with Instructor Li, Han Ziheng decided to retreat, use the terrain under the cover of the darkness, retreat while fighting, and successfully evacuated before the enemy's encirclement closed.
Picture | The masses welcome the Eighth Route Army
This is the first firefight with the Japanese army after Han Ziheng led his army into the Xiaoqinghe area, annihilated more than 1,000 Japanese troops, greatly hit the Japanese army's arrogance, and even exerted the reputation of the Eighth Route Army, won the praise of the local people, and gained a firm foothold in the Qinghe Plain area.
led 90 people to break through the blockade of 4,000 Japanese troops
Han Ziheng carried out a long-term anti-Japanese struggle in the Qinghe Plain area for three years, participated in countless wars against Japan, and experienced the ruthless beating and continuous tempering of the war, which made him grow very quickly. He summarized his experience again and again in actual combat, and continuously improved his combat and command level. He led his troops to the enemy-occupied areas and enemy camps many times, giving the Japanese army a painful lesson. As early as 1942, Han Ziheng served as the Chief of Staff of the Qinghe Military Region Independent Regiment for his outstanding performance.
At the beginning of 1942, he created a myth. In the Changbai Mountain area, Han Ziheng led a company to fight. Faced with a blockade of more than 4,000 Japanese invaders, he was not afraid of danger and adopted a mobile and flexible combat method to break through the Japanese encirclement and lead the entire company to no casualties. This miracle set off a huge wave of revolution in the Qinghe Plain.
3. Han Ziheng died heroically
In early 1943, the Japanese army gathered 10,000 troops to sweep the Qinghe Plain in Shandong. The Japanese army adopted the commonly used "iron wall encirclement" sweeping tactic, trying to encircle the Eighth Route Army and compress it into a narrow area for elimination.
The main force of the Eighth Route Army fought flexibly with the enemy, destroying the layout of the enemy's interactive encirclement, thus escaping from the encirclement. After the Japanese army lost here, they set their sights on the Qingxi branch military district and surrounded it in mid-January.
At this time, Han Ziheng was stationed in the northern part of Xiaoqinghe. After receiving organizational information, he made an estimate of the Japanese offensive pace, "the encirclement will be encircled according to the speed of the Japanese army's marching." So Han Ziheng led his troops to evacuate.

However, the situation they faced was somewhat difficult. There were strongholds for enemy guns and live ammunition equipment in the west, and a large number of Japanese troops were blocked to the south. At this stage, the overall transfer is impossible, and the goal is too big.
After repeated decisions, Han Ziheng decided that if he could not break through as a whole, he would be divided into multiple ways to find opportunities to break through. Han Ziheng led the ninth company to seek a breakthrough from the northeast direction. At the same time, more than 3,000 Japanese troops surrounded Taotangkou and cut off the retreat route of the Eighth Route Army from Gaoyuan to Qingcheng.
When Han Ziheng arrived at Tianguo Village, he saw that Tian Town not far away was already in the sky. From a distance, he could still see the Japanese army in the city. He quickly led his army to Miaocui Village.
Since Han Ziheng could see the Japanese army, the Japanese army naturally discovered the traces of Han Ziheng's troops. Now they have hurriedly sent troops to follow Han Ziheng's troops to pursue them, and surrounded Han Ziheng's troops in Miaozi Village . Fortunately, Han Ziheng responded properly and first let the troops use grenades to blow out a passage, and then let the troops retreat while fighting. With the fierce battle, Han Ziheng led his troops to withdraw from Miaozi Village.
However, Han Ziheng led his troops to Wangjia Village again was surrounded by the Japanese army like a tide, and the disparity in troops was very obvious.Han Ziheng, who was at a disadvantage, called on everyone to move forward bravely and emphasized that even if , "one person must rush out. If you can rush out, you must count on one, don't be afraid of fighting."
This time the battle was in an open area and there was nothing to cover it. The only few dead trees were occupied by Japanese dramas early, so Han Ziheng had to choose to lean over and fight on the flat ground.
grenades are like sparks, constantly landing on the enemy's positions, blowing the enemy up to pieces; machine gun is constantly firing, and it looks like a tongue of flame when looking from the front. For a moment, the smoke and dust brought up made the battlefield difficult to see clearly.
Han Ziheng's troops were like they were desperate. After fighting against the enemy in the south and hitting the side. Although the soldiers fought bravely, the huge gap between the troops could not be easily smeared. The soldiers fell down one by one, and the other soldiers quickly filled in before they could be sad.

In this battle, the machine gun squad was a heavy firepower output and suffered a fierce blow from the Japanese army. Machine gunners kept falling down, and other soldiers kept going to take over. Even so, none of the soldiers in the machine gun squad survived.
The soldiers led by Han Ziheng repelled wave after wave of attacks by the Japanese army. As long as the Japanese army rushed in front of them, they all turned into corpses.
But the enemy rushed up continuously. Seeing the enemy shrinking and surrounding the circle, Han Ziheng was very nervous because there were not many bullets left in the soldiers' hands now, and the situation was so serious. Han Ziheng directed everyone to fight bayonets. He rushed forward first, and the soldiers followed him closely to kill the enemy.
While fighting in hand-to-hand combat, Han Ziheng was hit in the thigh by the Japanese bullets, but he still stood up and fought with the Japanese army. But with his legs injured, his movements were significantly slower. He was scratched by the enemy's waist and was soon shot on his left shoulder by the enemy. Even so, he still insisted on commanding the battle.
Until later, the Japanese army shot him several times, causing him to get shot several times. The wound on his body was like a fountain, and he even fainted for a while. When he woke up, he found himself being carried by several soldiers. He asked the soldiers to put him down. Doing so would severely slow down everyone's itinerary and the Japanese army would catch up sooner or later. He firmly told the soldiers : "I really can't do it anymore. You go first, I'll cut you off the back. Remember to rush out. As long as you can rush out, there is hope for anything. "
The soldiers insisted on refusing, and the Japanese army behind them kept shouting, saying that they wanted to capture the leaders of the Eighth Route Army alive. Han Ziheng held a gun and forced several Eighth Route Army soldiers to leave with his gun. When the enemy gradually approached, Han Ziheng was unwilling to be captured and pulled the trigger to die heroically.

Seeing Han Ziheng's heroic sacrifice, more than 20 soldiers still survived in the team, shouting the slogan of not being a prisoner and rushing towards the Japanese camp. With the belief that one will die, he finally broke through the siege. In this battle, more than 180 Japanese soldiers were killed, and the Eighth Route Army also lost more than 50 soldiers.
4. Han Ziheng's sacrifice
When the news of Han Ziheng's death came, it caused great grief among the people in Shandong, and the people could not accept Han Ziheng's departure.
Han Ziheng often helps the lives of villagers, and has won many victories in the western Qing Dynasty to protect the safety of local residents. People are grateful for his kindness.
Qinghe Party Organization held a farewell ceremony for Han Ziheng . That day the entire village was surrounded by people coming to pay their respects. Political Commissar Li of the Qingxi Military Region even said this: " Han Ziheng's heroic sacrifice is a huge grief that the people in the western Qing Dynasty cannot accept, and it also caused the Qingxi War Zone to lose a powerful general."
5. More heroic deeds
Yang Chengwu
Yang Chengwu is a capable general of Marshal Nie Rongzhen, one of the ten founding marshals of New China. He once led a company to escape from the siege of ten thousand people of the Japanese army. When the Japanese invaded North China Plain in 1940, Yang Chengwu received an order to lead the army to Langyashan .
When passing Huaban Beishan in the middle of the night, Yang Chengwu found that a large group of Japanese troops suddenly came to the foot of the mountain. It was roughly estimated that there were tens of thousands of people.
You should know that at this time, the troops led by Yang Chengwu only had one company, and facing the Japanese army with a large number of tens of thousands of people was like delivering vegetables.
After a panic, he calmed down. He ordered the guard to break out with the company commander first, and the others were divided into three teams to face the enemy. Harassment and attack. The Japanese army took a short rest here and did not find anyone on the mountain. The Eighth Route Army suddenly descended from the sky, causing the Japanese army to panic. The troops led by Yang Wucheng were also trapped in the Japanese encirclement.

But not long after, the Japanese army recovered. At this time, Yang Chengwu had already led a team to break through, so he issued an order to increase the firepower output, attack the weak places of the enemy, and finally broke through the encirclement smoothly and fled Entered the ravine.
The Japanese army immediately pursued, but faced with a vast ravine after a while, and was finally freed by Yang Chengwu.
After escaping, Yang Chengwu did not quickly lead the troops to escape, but sent scouts to investigate the whereabouts of the Japanese army, and actually found the enemy's base camp not far ahead.
This discovery made Yang Chengwu sweat in a cold sweat , Now their company was attacked by the Japanese army in front and back, and it was only a matter of time before they were discovered. If they were not careful, the entire army would be destroyed.
After thinking for a long time, Yang Chengwu's troops were divided into two groups. The company commander led the army to raid south, and he led the raid north. This layout made the Japanese army panic, and there were certain questions about the Eighth Route Army's strength. While the enemy was still hesitating and struggling, the two groups had already broken through the enemy's defense line and finally converged on Jiulian Mountain.
Xu Henglu
Xu Henglu was an old revolutionary soldier who joined the Eighth Route Army in 1945. He participated in the Liberation War and fought bravely many times in the war. By the time of resisting U.S. aggressing Korea, he was already the company commander. In January 1951, he received an order to guard the Nanshan position, and he was facing the First Cavalry Division of the US Army. During this war, the enemy dispatched 12 tanks and to crush the position, but he easily resolved it with grenades.
pic | Xu Henglu
However, the US military added 19 tanks and sent another regiment of troops to take turns to attack, resulting in only 30 people left in Xu Henglu's troops. In the end, hand-to-hand combat was staged. After a round of charge, only seven people were left in Xu Henglu's company.
people are still there, and the battle must continue. This is the belief of Chinese soldiers. Without ammunition, he asked everyone to pile the stones in front of the position and smash them hard at the enemy with the stones. The seven surviving soldiers have firm beliefs that they will die on the position even if they die. They are about to start a new round of hand-to-hand combat. Fortunately, the reinforcements arrived and joined the battle. At the end of the battle, only Xu Henglu's company was left with him and another soldier.
They persevered for another five hours to complete the blocking task due to a large number of casualties and insufficient ammunition. The entire company held on for two days and two nights.
Conclusion
From childhood to adulthood, we have heard many hero stories, but among these stories, what makes us empathize with the most must be the deeds of the heroes who have been in the establishment of New China. Every time I understand the heroic deeds of a martyr, every time I remember a heroic martyr, so that they will be remembered forever.
