On October 30, local time, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said that the leadership, including Russian President Putin , is ready to talk to the West, provided that Russia receives "realistic proposals" based on equality from the West. According to reports, Lavrov said that if Western countries make "tangible proposals" to Russia, which are based on the principles of equality and mutual respect and are intended to seek a balance between compromise and the interests of all countries in the region, then Russia will agree to have a dialogue on these proposals. He also said Russian personnel have been ready to listen to Western colleagues’ proposals to ease tensions. Lavrov also said that Russian President Putin repeatedly stated that Russia had never refused negotiations and warned those who refused negotiations to be clear-headed-up - the longer the delay, the harder it is to reach a consensus with Russia.
It is obvious that Russia's "special military operation" against Ukraine has come to an end, and Russia has begun to seek an opportunity to end the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. During this Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Russia suffered crazy suppression from , the Western world, but it did not gain anything, at least it obtained the territory of the four regions of Ukraine. And it has basically achieved Putin's expected goal, which is to deter NATO's eastward expansion of through military operations, and also made Ukraine's plan to join NATO a fantasy. Since the Russian-Ukrainian conflict has been underway, although the Russian army still has an absolute advantage and has much stronger war mobilization capabilities than Ukraine. But with the crazy support from the West, Ukraine has also stabilized its defense line. In fact, Russia and Ukraine have entered a stalemate stage, and the Ukrainian army even launched a certain counterattack against the Russian army.
This is extremely passive for Russia, and entering the stalemate stage does not mean that the two sides will not fight, it is just a confrontation. On the contrary, the war in the stalemate stage will be more intense, and the front lines of both sides will inevitably be a life-and-death tug-of-war. This is a huge consumption for both Russia and Ukraine. Russia relies on its own powerful military power, while Ukraine relies on the support of the United States and the West. Now Russia has made a statement and wants to engage in dialogue with the West, which is obviously a desire to properly resolve the Ukrainian issue through diplomatic means. Putin's move is still extremely clever, because the negotiation channels between Russia and Ukraine are almost cut off, and Zelensky does not want to negotiate with Putin at all. Also, even if the Ukrainian president wants to negotiate, he can't make the decision. After all, it is just a pawn of the United States and cannot control his own destiny.
In this way, if Russia wants to resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine through diplomacy, it will have to talk to the boss behind Ukraine. Once Russia and the West shake hands and make peace, the Russian-Ukrainian conflict will truly come to an end. In other words, the status of Ukraine's pawn is now unstable. If the two major powers of the United States and Russia really reach an agreement, Ukraine will have no say. At that time, the conditions will not be accepted. However, the negotiations have not begun at present, but it is just that Russia has begun to send strong signals from negotiations with the West. In fact, this represents an attitude, that is, Russia is willing to talk and be peaceful.
As for whether the West will accept it, it depends on the sincerity of the negotiations between the two sides. Russia’s first requirement is to carry out negotiations with an equal status, and the West must put away those high-ranking faces. This is not a problem for Western countries, but their suppression and sanctions on Russia will not be easily lifted. Also, Western groups led by the United States may want to resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine through negotiations, after all, this is related to their vital interests. Little did they know that after Russia's natural gas supply was cut off, Western society had already paid a heavy price, and the continuous rise in resource prices also caused a certain amount of inflation . In order to safeguard their own interests, Western European countries should send positive signals to negotiate with Russia.
But what the United States wants is to use Ukraine to drag down Russia, so naturally, it wants the Russian-Ukrainian conflict to continue. Therefore, even if Russia is ready to negotiate with the West, it may not be successful. The United States will inevitably jump out and cause damage. The United States is the boss of the Western world. As long as you jump out, you will have younger brothers follow you. Most Western countries must take into account the attitude of the United States. As for the result, it depends on the price of both sides. Although Russia has released the news of negotiations with the West, it does not mean that it is afraid of them. It should be that it is realized that it will not be beneficial to anyone to continue fighting. It wants to stop loss of in time and withdraw. However, it has to be said that as long as the major powers reach an agreement, even if Ukraine is completely betrayed, then anyone will probably jump out and get a share of the pie.
