"I grew up next to Luo River . This river carries too many memories of people in Yiyang." In the early morning, I walked on the gravel road in Binhe Park and practiced Tai Chi by the sea of flowers. It was a happy time for citizen Zhao Yupeng to retire.
The Luo River is the largest river in our county, running through the entire territory from west to east, flowing through 8 townships and 68 administrative villages, and the central line of the river is 65 kilometers long. Zhao Yupeng said that when he was a child, the water of the Luo River was clear and the water and grass were abundant. Adults were washing vegetables and washing clothes, and children catching fish and shrimp. This was the mother river of Yiyang people. However, since the end of the last century, the random digging of river sand and improper sewage discharge have left the banks of the Luo River overgrown with weeds and garbage everywhere. Over the years, the governance of Luohe has never stopped. Especially since the launch of the ecological restoration project in the Luohe City section, a total of 2.1 billion yuan has been invested to manage and beautify 25 kilometers of river channels in five phases.
51 kilometers of levees on both sides of the shore and 38 kilometers of flood control roads on the top of the levee, making the flood control standard in the Luohe urban section reach once in 50 years. A level 8 rubber dam was built, forming a total of 11,500 mu of water surface connected to the head and tail of the eighth level, with a water storage capacity of 18 million cubic meters. "We strictly control sewage discharge and sand mining, and manage the main river channel, large and small tributaries and open ditches that flow into the tributaries to ensure clean and safe water." In general, 22 squares are scattered on both sides of the Luo River, 260 kinds of flowers and green plants, and 4,800 acres of greening area, making the Riverside Park a good place for people to enjoy the scenery, exercise and relax. Along the water-friendly surface platform, 18 kilometers of LED light strips, more than 600 poem column lamps, 84 3,000 watt spotlights, 4 groups of laser lamps, 2,700 floor lamps and street lamps make the night view of the entire Luo River flowing and beautiful.

Among them, the "peony corridor" composed of more than 6.4 million excellent varieties such as Luoyang Red , Zhuangyuan Red, First Case Red, Pink Erqiao, Yaohuang , Luminous White, Fire Alchemy Pill, etc., has become another stunning new business card of our county. Visitors can go directly to the Riverside Park along the "Peony Corridor" and enjoy the beautiful scenery in the garden with "green grass in the rain, red peach blossoms on the water are about to burn".

Rivers are the blood of the city, and culture is the soul of the city. Focusing on the Luo River, our county makes full use of transit water resources, the current status of rivers and canal systems in the county planning area, and with the goal of building a civilized water ecological county, it steadily promotes the "1518" water ecological project with "Luo River as the axis, 5 canals as the auxiliary, 10 water streets, and 8 artificial lakes", cleverly uses the Luo River, and takes advantage of the situation to build a circular water system with "Luo River running through east and west, and lake canal convection north and south", realizes the connection between rivers, canals, Luo River tributaries and artificial lakes, and creates a panoramic water ecology of 80 square kilometers. Yongji Lake, Jinping Lake, Shou'an Lake...many artificial lakes are connected by rivers and become shining "pearls" on the water system around the city.

Because of the kayaking training base built on the banks of the Luohe River, our county has become the only sub-venue of the 13th National Games except for the main stadium of Tianjin.
