brand ASUS announced its revenue for May yesterday (9), reflecting the impact of the epidemic lockdown and logistics. The monthly brand revenue was NT$34.233 billion, a monthly increase of NT$15.92% and an annual decrease of 11.27%. The cumulative brand revenue in the first five months of this year reached NT$191.726 billion, an annual increase of NT$4.66%. Asus admitted that its revenue and shipments in April and May were lower than expected, and it is estimated that the second quarter will be the operating low for the whole year.

ASUS said that as the epidemic lockdown slows down and the logistics bottleneck gradually alleviates, it is expected that revenue and shipments will increase significantly in June, but revenue and shipments in April and May are both lower than expected. At this stage, the operating results of the second quarter are prudent.

Looking forward to this year, Asus admitted that based on current channel inventory and customer demand, overall consumption demand is slowly going downward. It is expected that the second half of the year will be more challenging, and the annual operation will not be comparable to last year. However, if the overall industrial consumption demand declines by 10%, Asus will still aim to be 10% better than the market, and strive to remain the same. It also sets positive goals for laptop shipments this year. It is estimated that it will reach 21.5-23 million units, and the high standard will be close to the 24 million units level.

ASUS inventory level is affected by inflation, international situation and epidemic lockdown, and the inventory level is relatively high at this stage, with components and finished products each accounting for half.ASUS believes that this season is the most challenging period, but in the second half of the year, with the rebound in new products and seasonal demand, it is expected to improve quarter by quarter.

On the other hand, in response to the business opportunities of the 618 Shopping Festival, not only Asus launched new products, but Acer and MSI also offered discounts to grab the market. Acer announced the launch of the 618 Shopping Festival, with the new Acer Vero environmentally friendly new phones, large-screen learning laptops and other discounts on its brand hosts, monitors, and peripheral products.
