Family background
Cheng Dan'an was born in Huashu Town, Dongxiang, Jiangyin County, Jiangsu Province. Huashu is a big town in the county. There are only two families in the town with the surname Cheng, one in the east of the town, which is in the fresh fruit and vegetable industry; Chengdan's family is on the small street in the north of the town, and their grandfather and father are both doctors. When Cheng Tan'an was born, his grandfather had already passed away and his grandmother was still there. When Cheng Danan was sixteen years old, he learned from his mother's instructions that Cheng Danan's family's background, especially his father's hardships and hardships in his life, which greatly affected Cheng Danan's character and his restrained and responsible career.
Chengtan's grandfather's name is Fenggang . He is a professional doctor and specializes in treating pediatric diseases and acne. He is quite prestigious in the local area and has four sons and one daughter. After inheriting the name of An’s father, he was in full swing. He lost his father at the age of thirteen and studied according to his elder brother. Less than half a year, he went to a hotel in Gu, a neighboring town, to be an apprentice. He was often insulted by his elder sister-in-law and predicted that he would not be able to graduate. Therefore, after three years of study, he was supported by his grandmother of Tan'an. He invested in Gushan, a doctor named Zhou, a doctor named Zhou, worked for three years, and then returned home to get married, make a living, and offered to his two elder brothers to support his mother in installments. When I first practiced medicine, my business was light. I often went out for dozens of miles late at night to sell vegetables in the neighboring town to make small profits. After the mother of Dan'an, she woves until late at night before she rests. Only by working hard and thrifty can you avoid hunger. In the winter and spring seasons, I went out with my second brother kinds of acne (old-style acne seedlings). After following for three years, the second brother allowed him to eat acne alone and warned him not to be allowed to eat acne in the 30-mile-a-round acne area. The conditions are extremely harsh, and the father is willing to follow the orders and does not compete with each other. He treats people without any compensation and often visits the sick. After two or three years of hard work, people saw that they were responsible for their treatment and were cautious, and their business gradually developed. Usually, I stay at home and I don’t put down the book, read books such as internal and surgical subjects, and never do unnecessary social engagements. Later, he learned massage from Miao Huairen, a pediatric department, and acupuncture from his neighbor Chen Jucai. Therefore, he spent his whole life practicing surgery, infants, acupuncture, and acupuncture. Cheng Tan'an was willing to treat diseases throughout his life, and he did not think it was painful to study business. He was deeply influenced by Cheng Tan'an's father.
Cheng Dan'an's father is very kind-hearted and has a very financial difficulty. However, he does not receive medical treatment for poor and sick people. Sometimes he secretly helps a few small silver dollars to the patients' homes. He is sincere in dealing with others. He always does his best to complete the entrusted work. He serves very frugally, carries his mother, respects his brothers, and is harmonious with his neighbors. He is all very dedicated and hardworking. Although the three elder brothers treated Chengdan'an's father very harshly in the past, Chengdan'an's father had no resentment. Later, when they had bad situations, Chengdan'an's father took care of him. This point also had a profound impact on Cheng Tan'an's character. Cheng Dan'an's father was born to Cheng Dan'an and his sister, and his brother, and never scolded or beaten. His educational level is approximately equivalent to his current junior high school level. He speaks straightforwardly and does not like communication. His business skills are good, his theory is insufficient, and his local impression of him is a good gentleman. Although Chengtan'an's father's business is improving every year, because he is in contact with the working people and the funds are not included, his economy is still very tight, and half of his family life is obtained from Chengtan'an's mother's textile labor as a subsidy.
Cheng Dan'an's mother's name is Li Qiaozhen. Cheng Dan'an's grandmother runs a tofu shop and has only two sons and one daughter.
Cheng Danan's mother was betrothed to Cheng Danan's father since she was a child.外祖母的家教很严,一丝不苟。
Cheng Dan'an's mother was influenced by her grandmother. Although she was illiterate, she would also bite a few words in the book when it comes to answering people, and her attitude was very serious. Cheng Danan had never heard her joking loudly, nor had she ever heard her scold her children loudly. She helped her father, was thrifty and always weaved until late at night. Work hard and never complain. I love my children very much, and it is unhappy to see that Chengtan'an and others have abandoned their studies or are lazy. She died until she was sixty-eight years old.
Cheng Dan'an's sister is three years younger than Cheng Dan'an. After two years of school, she helped her mother's textile production. At the age of 20, she returned to her fellow villager Zhang's surname. Cheng Dan'an's younger brother was Qitang. Cheng Dan'an was eleven years old. His parents tried their best to study in the Civil Engineering Department of Jiaotong University. His father died and he was two years away from his graduation period. Two years later, Cheng Dan'an was responsible for his study and engagement. Later, due to different personalities and business, they lived in one party and had very few meetings.
Cheng Dan'an's biological daughter, named Huifen, now named Fen, is 34 years old and graduated from the Department of Pharmacy, West China University of Chengdu. I originally planned to study Chinese medicine prescriptions, and then I learned acupuncture at home. At the age of 31, he started marrying his neighbor Mei Huanci.
When Cheng Dan'an was in Chengdu, he was introduced by student Du Lianxia (now at the Chongqing Health Department Clinic) and was raised by a boy who had just been born for three days. He was named Shu Jun. He is already seventeen years old this year and is studying in the junior high school of Bole Middle School in Suzhou.
Cheng Dan'an's childhood
I heard Cheng Dan'an's mother say that when Cheng Dan'an was alive, the family's economy was in great difficulty, and his father's medical income was very small, and his mother sold textiles day and night to subsidize the family. If she had no time to embrace Cheng Dan'an, she placed Cheng Dan next to the loom. Cheng Danan never cried except crying when he was hungry. When he was three or four years old, except for his grandmother, when he saw relatives or outsiders coming, Cheng Dan'an always avoided him and refused to go with his father to visit other people's houses; he was afraid of calling others and was also afraid of laughing. When she was about six or seven years old, she went to her grandmother's house once. She gave Cheng Danan a handful of rice cake slices. Cheng Danan had already taken them in her hand. At this time, her aunt joked: "You are here, you haven't called anyone yet! Why have you got the cake slices?" Cheng Danan scattered the cake slices in her hand to the ground in embarrassment, turned around and left. This incident was often cited as a joke by them later.
Study period
Cheng Dan'an was six years old, and he was enlightened to recognize square characters at the house of Mr. Fang. When he was eight years old, Mr. Fang died and went to Mr. Cha's house to read the "Four Books". By the age of twelve, he had read more than 30 books, including "Zuo Zhuan", "Book of Rites", and "Youth Learning Qionglin". In the second half of the year at the age of twelve, he entered the third-grade class of Chenghua Primary School in the town. His examination results were among the top five in previous years, and he was highly valued by the three teachers Wang Yanmeng, Xia Linqi and Qian Xiaozhen in the school. He graduated from a junior high school at the age of 16 and went to apply for Nantong Normal University, but failed. I want to go to Jiangyin Nanpu Middle School, but because my family’s financial situation is not continuing, I stayed at school as an assistant teacher and taught first and second grade students in junior high school. The following year, Mr. Xia Linqi introduced him to Zhenhua Primary School founded by Mr. Li Zian, a cloth businessman, as a teacher. He met his colleague Tao Xianqi, who is now a librarian at the Nanjing Wynn Cloth Factory.
Studying medicine through
The nineteen-year-old father wanted to follow Dan'an to study medicine and learn from Mr. Qu Jianzhuang, a surgeon in the town. Teacher Qu knew that Cheng Dan'an's family was in financial difficulties, so he did not charge tuition fees. Because they are not far apart, they go back and forth. After studying for three years, I finished reading "Lingsu Leishu", "Treatise on Fever" and "Golden Chamber" by Chen Xiuyuan, and Wang Mengying, "Warm Jingwei", "Hong Kong Jingwei", "Hong Kong Songs" by Wang Ang, and "Bencao Continuing the New". At that time, because of my strong memory, I did not work hard to study, but I have forgotten it to this day. Teacher Qu reads a lot of medical books and is familiar with them, and he also reads a lot of classical books. However, a very reserved, gentle and polite person always speaks regularly and often listens to him for a long time, but he still can't know what he intends. Cheng Danan often doesn't understand his classical sentences very well. In addition, Cheng Danan is not eloquent and is afraid of speaking wrongly, so he is afraid of having a conversation with him. Later, Cheng Danan's third uncle's daughter betrothed to his children. He and Cheng Danan were both teachers and students, and they also had friendship. He is still alive so far, and Cheng Dan'an has frequent contacts with him.
In the autumn when Dan'an was twenty-one years old, an outside Western doctor came to the town, which made a stir. At that time, the newspapers often recruited hypnosis, spiritual sci-tech, etc. from correspondence schools of traditional Chinese and Western medicine. Cheng Dan'an always likes to take a look at the charter and wants to learn it. I always think in my heart: If I can use Chinese medicine and Western medicine, I will use hypnosis and other treatment methods to treat others. I will treat them. I will see one, and it will be better. How good! However, the family’s financial situation is so difficult, how can you ask your parents for money? So I found a way to save money. At that time, my family did not keep the income and expenditures, so I took ten or twenty cents for the purchase of items from my family. I took more than a few more. After accumulating more than a year, I only got a few yuan to participate in the correspondence psychiatric treatment method held by the Shanghai Ma Huaying University Psychiatry Research Association.
In the early winter of 22 years old, my parents finished their marriage for Cheng Danan. At that time, Cheng Dan'an's heart was still very passionate about learning Western medicine and Lingzi techniques. With the consent of her beloved wife, she sold part of her dowry decorations and participated in the correspondence course for traditional Chinese and Western medicine organized by Wang Ze in Shanghai. The following year, at the age of 23, Zhou Xing, a Western Medicine doctor, had a trick of an intern. With his father's consent, his beloved wife sold some of her clothes, completed her internship with Western medicine and injections, and also learned the spiritual sci-science technique run by the Koreans. During this medical study stage, as long as you hear any novel, fast, good and effective treatment methods, you always want to learn it, but you think it is unscientific for my father's acupuncture, sha, and shock treatment methods. Cheng Danan thought that the child’s illness was nothing more than a cold or stop eating. Both were the main causes. He went to massage for him and was excited, causing him to cry and scream. He had a cold and sweat, and naturally the fever subsided. After the food and injury, he massaged the chest and abdominal cavity to help the gastrointestinal peristalsis to move downwards. Vomiting and diarrhea will naturally be cured, so there is no big reason to push the shock. Cheng Danan learned some Western medicine at that time, believing that acupuncture is just a random provocation and pricking on people, which is unreasonable and a barbaric behavior.
First entered society
In the early winter of 1921, Chengdan and Anxu were 23 years old, and he was one year old. He returned home from Shanghai and brought some ordinary injections and started a medical treatment with his father. While following my father in the late winter and early spring season, he went to the countryside to help with acne, while practicing medicine. At that time, the rural economy was in poor condition and there were many poor people. Cheng Dan'an was very happy to treat others voluntarily and prescribe cheap medicines. For several consecutive years, he developed the habit of not using expensive medicines or using too many medicines.
But at that time, Cheng Dan'an had the stubborn personality of refusing to accept Dan'an's publicity and self-recommendation. Cheng Danan had only once or twice for the patient to be treated. If the disease had not yet recovered, he would never ask first, but asked him to speak first, and he would have to treat Cheng Danan, and he would have to treat him. Cheng Danan only had to treat him. Cheng Danan went to a rich family to see a doctor, and would not have hypocritical social engagements and would be flattered, so the business was not easy to carry out. This personality is still the same. Cheng Dan'an is afraid of social engagements, and all the relatives and acquaintances they know. There is no need for things, don’t walk around casually, don’t know what it means to contact relationships and develop business, so Cheng Dan’an has no good friends or capable relatives.
Society Politics
From 1921 to 1924, Cheng Dan'an practiced medicine with his father at home and studied surgery and kindergarten from his father. In 1923, after his father cured his low back pain and insomnia, he began to learn acupuncture and read " Acupuncture Dacheng ". In that year, the local government established the Tongshan Society, which said that it was about Confucius and Mencius' ways of cultivating one's own character, and taught me how to exercise and cure diseases, which caused a sensation. Most people in the local area participated. Cheng Danan was curious and wanted to learn how to treat their illnesses, so he followed his parents to participate. At that time, he used the name from elementary school, which was called Cheng Qitong; when practicing medicine, he was called Cheng Danhe. After joining Tongshan Society, I followed the work, hoping to cure the nocturnal sperm disease that cannot be cured for many years. But the confidence is not strong, intermittent, and there is no progress. In less than half a year, I am too lazy to walk around. In the winter of this year, Cheng Dan'an's younger brother Qi Tang, cousin Qi Ming and his former classmate Jiang Jiasheng (named Junchen, now the head of the Beijing National Cooperative Federation). They studied outside and went home during the winter vacation to contact several past classmates Xia Yuancai and Huang Yanzhao and other ten people organized secret groups, which were divided into CP and CG groups. Cheng Tan'an participated in the CG group at that time, and there were several booklets that everyone secretly circulated. I remember one of them is Marx's "H Capital on ", which has been circulated for a year. When they come back during the winter and summer vacations, they always hold secret meetings in a seating room in Tongshan Society where there are few people walking around. Because each parent only knows that his children require fitness and strengthening their bodies to learn to sit down, but does not know that Cheng Danan and others are holding secret meetings.
In the spring of 1925, Cheng Dan'an set up a clinic in a market called Beiguo 80 miles away from his home and rented a house named Zhang. The homeowner is an expert in making fresh vegetables and fish. His son is Zhang Junyuan, who is a few years younger than Cheng Danan, and is closer to Cheng Danan. He has a lot of connection with local youth. This winter, Cheng Danan helped his father go out to grow cowpox. My cousin Qiming has graduated from a rural teacher and teaches in a rural primary school five miles away from home. He often asks Cheng Dan'an to go to Chenjiaqiao, a countryside in the neighboring town for a meeting. Many people do not introduce their names and addresses. Once I met Zhang Junyuan and was also inside. All we talked about is how to contact young farmers and workers to launch riots, burn and kill landlords, etc.
So I know several things that happened in the town. In the winter of 1926, Zhang Junyuan and a few familiar and unknown people went to the town for several days to have a meeting, asking Cheng Dan'an and several local comrades to borrow surplus grain from the local business group, and launched a fire street in Houteng, a neighboring town. Later, some people in the local area suspected that the brothers Chengtan'an and others were suspected. Cheng Dan'an and others felt that they could no longer live at home, so they went to Suzhou with Zhang Junyuan to live in his aunt's house in Yinmaqiao in the city. During meetings, I always heard that farmers should be mobilized and riots should be organized, and Chen Duxiu and Zhai Qiubai should be mentioned. Cheng Tan'an didn't know why he did this at that time? What exactly are CP and CG? Thinking about it now, Cheng Danan followed him unconsciously at that time, which was too naive. But I feel that the leadership of CP and CG is done in a meticulous and rigorous manner.
In 1948, Huaian Clinic and Care Hospital was established in Suzhou, and often published advertisements in newspapers and magazines. One morning, Chen Yu, former deputy director of the Central National Medical Center and consultant of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, came to visit. He likes to learn acupuncture. That year, he interviewed in Chongqing three or four times. He knew that Cheng Dan'an was weak and copied a copy of his "full-body massage method" to Chengdu to Cheng Dan'an, and gave him a scroll of long poems. There has been no further communication since then, and it has been nearly ten years since we left. This time, in order to send his daughter to Soochow University, I met Cheng Dan'an advertisement, and visited him in a while, and told him that he was a certain position in the Ministry of Health (forgotten), and was in charge of the affairs of relevant departments of traditional Chinese medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine is about to be identified. In the future, I would like to ask you about acupuncture issues. A few days later, the Central Health Bureau sent a certificate of a certain member (his name has been forgotten), probably done by Chen Yu. After Cheng Dan'an, in addition to asking Jiang Huailin for help, he lost contact with him. I don’t care about a member of the Department of Health at all, so I can’t remember what the name it is.
Suzhou school
In the winter of 1926, Cheng Dan'an and Zhang Junyuan arrived in Suzhou, stayed at the Zhang family in Yinmaqiao, and then introduced him to work as a school doctor at Chengbei Primary School, and also did things such as writing steel plates and mimeographing. The principal is Gu Rongchuan, and I heard that he was killed by the authorities in the future. The other teachers have forgotten their names, and now they only know that there is a surname Hua. They were once the principal of Suzhou Deaf and Mute School (the name can no longer be remembered).
Cheng Dan'an worked in Chengbei Primary School for three months. With the support of his beloved wife, he moved to Suzhou Pishi Street to set up a clinic and opened it. He met his neighboring trauma doctor Ji's wife. Introduced by Ji Ai Ren, he participated in the Wuxian Traditional Chinese Medicine Association, so during the meeting, Yu Huibo, Zhang Renxian and Zhu Yaoqing met. They often contribute articles in monthly magazines at the meeting, so they value it very much.
My cousin Qiming was arrested in his hometown. At that time, the detective chief was from the neighboring town. He knew that he was the nephew of Chengtan'an's father. He was young (only seventeen years old at that time), so he released him. He came to Suzhou to live in Chengtan'an. He was still introduced by Zhang Junyuan. He interacted with people in the Suzhou education industry and worked as a teacher in the countryside of Wu County. He was arrested soon and was imprisoned in Suzhou Prison for two years and was released after his term. He was later arrested and was executed in the spring of 1939 at Zhenjiang . Cheng Dan could get the postcard notice on the day of his death. Seeing that the words were not messy, I wanted to see his calm and generous attitude at that time. At that time, Cheng Dan'an was in great difficulty and was in great difficulty. He did not dare to report to his family. He quickly wrote to his brother-in-law to jointly plan to collect the body, but he did not agree. This failed to be delayed, which has caused regrets. After Cheng Dan'an opened on Pishi Street, his cousin and Zhang Junyuan came to stay for a while, but did not talk about their work. Cheng Dan'an is specialized in business and does not understand the situation.
In the summer of 1928, Cheng Dan'an and Chinese medicine doctor Ji Airen, Zhu Yaoqing, Zhu Ouling and Yang Hanzhang jointly organized Suzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine School in Wangshumi Lane. It was closed for less than a year due to financial difficulties.
My beloved wife also died of illness in 1929.After the school was closed, a clinic was set up at the home of Zhang Guangrong, a fellow villager from Hengjie (the street name has been forgotten) near the North Temple Tower, near . At that time, Fu Mou (the name has been forgotten) from Yiwu, Zhejiang, and Chen Dayuan from Jurong followed Cheng Dan'an to study medicine.
relocation Wangting
In the summer of 1929, Chengdan'an and Yang Hanzhang established a clinic together, and two medical students studied medicine with them. Because of the poor medical treatment, students have few internship opportunities. Later, a patient introduced him to the branch clinic set up by Zhan Rongsen Postal Service Agency, Wangting Station, 40 miles away from Suzhou, with very good business. He moved to the home of Liu, a surnamed Wangting Xiatang, in early winter.
In 1930, he married his fellow countryman Jiang Huailin.
" Chinese Acupuncture Therapy " was completed in the autumn of 1931, declaring that it will answer the questions in the book to ensure that it can learn, and that many readers from all over the country came to Wangting to study in person. Cheng Dan'an also gave up the treatment of Chinese and Western medicines and used special acupuncture to treat diseases. In the early winter of that year, my father died of illness and was fortunate to sell books. The income was very abundant and he could be treated with funerals. However, the custom of holding funerals in the past was that it was not allowed to be extravagant. It planned to buy books for funeral expenses of 300 yuan to donate to local schools, but it was opposed by the mother and her clan members.
After running a club,
In 1932, more people went to Wangting to learn acupuncture. At that time, Zhao Ansheng (i.e. Zhao Erkang) also came to Chengdan'an to work and study half-time after being introduced by his cousin Li Runqing. Because the house was not enough, I moved to the house of Li Tongtai Pharmaceutical Store on the south gate outside the bay during the Spring Festival. At that time, there were often more than a dozen students internships in eight major rooms. The study period is about two or three months.
Acupuncture clinic in the morning and lecture in the afternoon. At that time, I had to communicate with Mr. Sun Yanru, and I admired his rich knowledge. I asked him to add the first edition of "Chinese Acupuncture Therapy".
In 1933, Qiu Maoliang came to intern. In Wuxi, only internal medicine and laryngologists are famous for visiting, so that they can get to know each other and know their knowledge and respect them very much. In addition, for printing relations, we have contacted Xicheng Printing Office. I can’t remember the name of the manager in the institute now. The number of correspondence courses and internship students gradually increased during the two years of running the club. In addition to Zhao Ansheng as an assistant for a long time, Zhang Maofu was also admitted to the clerk.
Go to Japan to study
From 1932 to 1933, the academic academic was promoted, and there were more and more students, and I felt that I didn’t have enough knowledge. A friend told Japan that there was an acupuncture school, so he wanted to study in Japan.
That is, to learn Japanese from the Korean technicians in the silk factory. At this time, among the interns, Yang Kerong, a native of Mintan, Fujian, had his uncle opened a Sihailou Hotel in Nagasaki, so he made an appointment to go with him. At that time, I didn't understand the procedures for going abroad and did not discuss it with others. In the late autumn of 1933, Xie Jianming, an intern student who wrote the task of "Answers of Member Teaching Questions" in the club, was a top student who graduated from Nanchang Traditional Chinese Medicine School. The task of the outpatient internship was entrusted to Zhao Ansheng, and the task of receiving and receiving records was entrusted to Zhang Maofu. After the arrangement was made, he and his student Yang Kerong bought a ship ticket to Japan. When I arrived in Nagasaki, I was not allowed to log in because I had no passport. Yang Zhi's uncle was protected and he started to go to the land. He asked Cheng Danan and others to go to Tokyo and first went to the Chinese Youth in Kanda District to meet with Manager Zhang Jingqing and asked him to make arrangements.
After Cheng Dan'an went to Tokyo, Manager Zhang introduced him to live in a dormitory in Baishan District - many overseas students who entered Meiji University are here. I went to the Youth Association for Japanese internship for two months every day. After the New Year, the Youth Association introduced the Tokyo Higher Acupuncture School in Shinjuku District. The principal is Kotoshi Sakamoto, with three classrooms and five teachers. Because of the difficulty of listening to the class, reading was not easy, so Manager Zhang introduced Xie (named Forgotten) from Fujian to translate. After studying for about half a year, the school knew that Cheng Dan'an was an expert in acupuncture and gave him a doctoral degree from two years of graduation. Cheng Dan'an is not used to socializing and socializing, and he has dozens of people in the same room. Except for meeting him day and night, he rarely talks. I have only visited Kobe, Yokohama, Hakone, Atami and Nikko with Xie Translator to visit acupuncture schools and attractions. Return to China in July. In Japan, the country has a strong feudal idea and despises feminist rights. It is respectable for its hard work and "voluntary labor" (student Yang Fuxiang noted: I followed the teacher for several years. When I was in a Japanese acupuncture higher education institution, I gave the books and needles I wrote when I was in the tin school. Once a classmate in the school fell ill, and everyone was left alone, and the teacher was cured with one injection.Koto Sakamoto valued him very much and took a photo with his wife and his teacher. This is the most noble etiquette in Japan. The Sakashi asked his troops to visit Japan and North Korea occupied by the Japanese. When I climbed Changbai Mountain, the climate suddenly changed. My fellow travelers advised my teacher to return quickly. It was rare for the teacher to climb the mountain, so I would like to stay for a night and not go down the mountain. It snowed heavily that night, and the next day the teacher went down the mountain in the snow, and the cold was biting. From then on, the cause of rheumatoid heart disease was caused by rheumatoid heart disease).
Acupuncture Training Institute
In 1935, Cheng Dan'an returned from Japan and planned with Xie Jianming, Zhang Xijun and others to establish the China Acupuncture Training Institute. In addition to referring to the Japanese method, all courses will be added to the "Inner Classic of Internal Medicine" and "Medical Theory". It is helpful to hire Guangxi students Luo Zhaoju, Zhejiang Qiu Maoliang and those with medical foundation who can acupuncture.
The lesson that Wuxi and Suzhou have taught Cheng Dan'an in the past is that if there is no considerable economic foundation, it cannot last. But I thought that I had to run a school for promoting acupuncture, so Xin Cheng Dan'an owned it and put 2,000 yuan as the opening fee. At that time, Zhang Xijun graduated from the Medical Affairs College in Zhenjiang and served as a position in the Central National Medical Center. He then asked Zhang Xijun, Luo Zhaoju, Xie Jianming, Qiu Maoliang, Shen Tuiting and Zhao Ansheng to join the Dan'an as the members of the society. Cheng Dan'an used his personal funds as the public office for seven people, but he did not want them to invest, so he used 2,000 yuan as a cushion capital, and the accommodation was provided by the society. Each person only received 30 yuan of work fees per month, and all of them were paid without pay.
Cheng Danan thought at that time that if the 2,000 yuan was used up and could not be maintained, this money would be borne by Cheng Danan alone; if the company earns from books and needles sold in the company, except for maintaining the school, there is still a surplus per semester, five-tenths will be awarded as a bonus, and the rest will be used as an extended provident fund.
At that time, I intended to divide the work and cooperate, hoping that everyone could do their best to seek common development, and everyone regarded running a school as their own career. Zhang Xijun is the contact for all external communications, the secretary's documents are chaired by Xie Jianming, and Cheng Dan'an focuses on business construction. After half a year of operation, the progress has been rapid, the number of students from other places has increased, and there are also many students coming to the school, so the second class will be opened. The teachers recruited in the school include Gu Zijing, Hou Jing’s famous Chinese medicine doctor, Tang Yifang, Cao Zhefu’s old Chinese medicine doctor, Li Chunxi, Cheng Shu, Chen Shiqing, etc., as assistant teachers. Jiao Yitang, director of the Central National Medical Center, Chen Yu, deputy director of the Central Committee, Peng Yangguang, Wuxi County Mayor Chen Yu, as well as the Education Bureau Director, the Health Bureau and the local industry expert Xue Mingjian as the school director. Many photos of school managers were published in the monthly "Student Graduation Number" of the Acupuncture Magazine. In fact, Cheng Dan'an didn't know each other, nor did he invite him to have a meeting. Zhang Xijun verbally contacted him and gave him a beautiful letter of appointment. Later, the relationship between Dan'an and Zhang Xijun was obtained from the name of the editorial and review committee member of the Central National Medical Clinic. By 1948, due to this relationship, he was named a member of the Department of Health (the specific title has been forgotten). At that time, he thought that glory was actually only a blank name, not edited or reviewed, and never participated in actual work.
In order to invite Jiao Yitang and others to serve as honorary directors, Zhang and Xie wanted Cheng Danan to go to Nanjing to invite them to visit. Cheng Dan'an was most afraid of social engagements, but for the future of the school, he had to force himself to go. I stayed at the highest-level hotel, today's Anle Restaurant, and I invited two tables of guests at the Pacific Hotel, but the guests didn't know each other. Directors Jiao and Chen and Peng Zhongwei sat there for more than ten minutes before leaving. Cheng Danan really couldn't stand the bureaucratic style of visitor, and was disgusted inside, and was restrained from every word and action. It was really uncomfortable. After the meal was over, I felt relieved.
On New Year's Day 1936, I printed many booklets promoting acupuncture, and prepared to take them to Zhenjiang to attend the National Traditional Chinese Medicine Congress at that time to promote acupuncture. The meeting was a meeting convened by the traditional Chinese medicine community against the government's policy of banning traditional Chinese medicine at that time. However, two nights before leaving, I suffered from thigh pain and could not walk, so I was unable to go. Later, my legs hurt more and more often, my joints became inflamed all over my body and I couldn’t move at all. Both Chinese and Western medicine were restrained and could not stop sweating and relieve pain, so I left school and returned to my hometown for recuperation. So in the early winter of the year, I heard that the school’s business was in slackened, and I was very anxious. At that time, he could only sit up and could not stand upright, so he immediately helped the sick to school to rectify, set an example in person, and was carried to class, so the teachers no longer neglected. After that, the expansion will be carried out, and the undergraduate degree that has been graduated for two years will be changed to acupuncture vocational school, and a library, acupuncture and sanitation ward will be added. In the late spring of 1937, seven three-story buildings and auditoriums were started, and all provident fund, expansion funds and book royalties from Chengtan'an over the past two years were invested in the construction. After the summer vacation, the school was not started due to the outbreak of the War of Resistance. The construction of acupuncture over the past few years has ended here. Nanjing, the journey has not stopped halfway, heading straight to Wuhu . When we arrived in Wuhu, the market was bombed and there was already chaos. We took a wooden boat to Xie Jianming and Shen Ke’s houses in Zhangshu Town to make a plan. After passing through Jiujiang, I arrived at the camphor tree in Nanchang. I had already gone to the countryside. Jianming left Changde, so I borrowed three hundred yuan from my father to go to Changsha and then transferred to Changde. At that time, Xie Jianming suffered from typhoid fever and died soon afterwards. Cheng Dan'an went to the house of a student named Nie Zhichao in Taoyuan, and then he rested.
Action behind
Cheng Dan'an set out from his hometown in the early winter of 1937 to avoid the Japanese invaders. He only brought some needles and a book called "Acupuncture and Moxibustion Therapy", intending to maintain his life through teaching and practicing medicine. Living temporarily at Nie Zhichao's house, he made a living by practicing medicine. The following spring, at the invitation of Taoyuan doctors, a three-month acupuncture workshop was held. He has not recovered his physical strength and has taught two hours of class a day. Later, Zhang Xijun wrote from Chongqing, saying that Jiao Yitang, the director of the National Medical Department, could not raise his left arm and could not be cured for a long time. He searched everywhere for Cheng Dan'an's whereabouts and wanted to ask for acupuncture, Cheng Dan'an then wanted to enter Sichuan.
After the workshop, Cheng Dan'an went from Shashi to Chongqing. It was mid-June 1938 and lived in a hotel in Daliangzi, where he was treated with Jiao's acupuncture every day. Cheng Dan'an often meets with Vice Minister Chen Yu and Consultant of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Peng Yangguang Central Committee here. Peng and Chen used to like to study acupuncture, without bureaucratic arrogance, and were kind to the conversation, and were unrestrained by the support of the Tang and An. He also met former Li Yuanhong's secretary Rao Fengyu in the Jiaoguan. At that time, he was the director of Chongqing Relief Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He invited Cheng Dan'an to work in the hospital. According to Zhang Xijun, Chen Yu and others, they also got to know Chen Bangxian and Shen Zhongzhu who have been famous for a long time, and Qu Huanzhang from Baiyao Factory in Yunnan. Later, more and more people in the political and banking circles suffered from tumor diseases and came to seek acupuncture treatment. They also organized more than 30 people to teach acupuncture classes in Dan'an.
Treat them with illness, and they do not think it is painful, but they are very painful when dealing with them. It's summer again, and the serious illness has not recovered after years of age. Jiao Yitang's arm failure has been cured. In order to avoid the hustle and bustle, he made an excuse to go to Chengdu and stayed temporarily at the home of a girl Zhao Zhiqiang. With his help, he set up a clinic in Xiyu Street. Immediately, a voluntary acupuncture guidance class was set up, and two hours of class was held at night, and after graduation in January, the fee for books and needles was collected. Then four classes were opened, with scholars from all over western Sichuan. In the spring of 1939, people who were not a medical worker who came to study came to study. Because of the acupuncture workshop, each session was set up, and the tuition fee was 30 yuan. Today, Xue Jianming from Chengdu Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Dai Nianfang from Yu City Second Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, and Du Lianxia from Yu City Health Ministry’s Traditional Chinese Medicine Outpatient Clinic are all students in this class. This number has been communicated and contacted with Chengtan'an to this day. In the autumn of that year, due to frequent bombings in Chengdu, he moved to Xue Jianming, a student from Damianpu, 20 miles away from Chengdu, to live in his home, and continued to hold workshops and practice medicine.
In early summer 1940, Chen Xunzhai, formerly sponsor of the Nanjing Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, went to Guang'an to teach acupuncture classes at his school.承淡安过去曾闻其名。 After seeing him, he knew that he was knowledgeable, talkative and good at writing, and deeply admired him. After the lecture, I returned to Chengdu. In early winter, he received the invitation of young medical workers from Shiyangchang He Tianxiu and Yu Dakui, and held a three-month acupuncture workshop.
In the spring of 1941, he was hired as a teacher of acupuncture and internal classics in Deyang, including Li Yuling, Mo Wen'an and Xie Yutang, an old Chinese medicine doctor, to be a teacher of acupuncture and internal classics. Later, the teacher of the typhoid fever class in the class went and invited Cheng Dan'an to continue to teach the typhoid fever class. With the help of each student, he compiled the book "A Brief Explanation of Typhoid Acupuncture Prescriptions", which is the original
. In the summer of 1942, he received the invitation of Liu Bofen, a former member of the Wuxi Acupuncture Society, and invited several local doctors to hold a workshop and stay for one year. Because his lover Jiang Huailin was sick, he returned to Chengdu and asked his student Xue Jianming to live on his behalf. I first lived in Weiyuqiao, but because the rent was too high, I moved to Dongerdao Street. In that year, my concubine Hua Meidi also came here from her hometown to live. Jiang Huailin studied hemorrhoids from Huang Jichuan. In addition to practicing medicine, Cheng Dan'an also served as a professor of acupuncture at Sichuan National Medical College. The dean is Cao Shushi, the director of Sichuan Provincial National Medical College. He didn't know each other for the first time and only met twice during his tenure.
In 1944, I lived in one year for three years and entered Sichuan for nine years. In the spring of 1944, I received a letter from my family and was seriously ill and wanted to return to my hometown, but I was unwilling to be an enemy, pseudo-obedient people. Later, he got a letter from Cheng Dan'an's brother Qi Tang, knowing that Zhang Junyuan had become a pseudo-county magistrate of Jiangyin and wanted Cheng Dan'an to communicate with him. Because of his disdain, he did not communicate with the enemy and decided not to make a plan to visit his relatives. Since then, I have never seen my mother again, and I feel uneasy. After the autumn of that year, the heart disease recurred severely and was repeatedly forced to move by the homeowner. The purpose of the forced relocation was to increase the rent significantly. Due to the limited municipal conditions, it was only in the name of taking back the self-use, and it was unreasonable to make trouble for Chengtan'an. Cheng Tan'an was unable to find a new home for a while, and his spirit was very painful. Later, due to the cure of the family of Li Langxuan, a soybean businessman in Yangmahe Town, he received his help and moved to his town to take care of his illness. Although this place is a small town, it is surrounded by mountains and water, with beautiful scenery and simple people. Everyone works in farming, which is very suitable for the calm and peaceful temperament.一住三年,不感厌倦。 During this period, acupuncture classes were held in nearby counties, mostly young medical workers.
After Japan surrendered, there were many demobilized people and traffic difficulties, so it was delayed until 1947 that it was repatriated. After counting, I had no achievements in Sichuan for nine years, except for practicing medicine and teaching. However, three or four hundred acupuncture students were cultivated in the northwest Sichuan area, which was worthy of being. However, things have changed, but many of them have lost contact until now. Only Xu Jingchen is the only one in Yangmahe. He is currently the representative of the medical community in Jianyang. He only returns two or three letters discussing acupuncture issues every year.
Suzhou Fushe
In the winter of 1947, I decided to return home, passed by Chongqing, lived in the home of a student Dai Nianfang, and asked him to handle the tickets and other matters. By the way, we visited four people including Zhang Xijun, Hou Jingyu, Shen Zhonggui, and Chen Xunzhai who had been away for a long time. They already have an economic foundation in Chongqing and want to stay for a long time. Cheng Dan'an was afraid that they would spend money to entertain him. After greetings, he said goodbye and refused to report the place of residence. When I returned to Wuxi, the scenery was no longer there, so I was dissatisfied. I hated the sins of the Japanese invaders and the corruption of the government, which led to the failure of state affairs. Due to the hardships of relocation over the years, he decided to buy a fixed house for himself. The house price in Suzhou was low, so he and his brother bought a residential house at No. 83, Siqian Street, Suzhou. At that time, my heart disease was severe and slow, and I was afraid that I would not last forever, so I discussed with my brother and made a contract in the name of my son and nephew to avoid trouble in the future.
After moving to Suzhou, Cheng Dan'an was weak and sickly, so he did not plan to reopen the society. He only helped Jiang Huailin develop the business of hemorrhoid and fistula department, and set up Huaian Clinic in the spring of 1948. At the same time, hundreds of remaining acupuncture books printed by the acupuncture club before the war were sold as a daily help and a resource for repairing the house. After the book sale advertisement was published, members of the past invited them to resume the club, and some students from other places came to Jiangsu to study, which was quite touched. Then he invited Qiu Maoliang to come to Sui to conduct the work together. Mr. Qiu also had the ambition to carry forward the acupuncture and came to Suzhou happily to carry out the plan together. No, the government was corrupt at that time, the currency was depreciated, and the traffic was blocked. The delivery process of letter purchases from other places was frequent for months. The buyer sent the payment at the selling price. The remittance had depreciated by less than one-tenth, and both the buyer and the seller suffered losses, and the workers' food expenses were unsustainable. At that time, although the name of the company was restored, the work could not develop. Qiu Jun suggested suspending the work and waiting for the opportunity to take another step.
In 1950, the whole country was liberated, transportation was restored, and social order and prices were stabilized. Then, at the end of the year, students Wang Yefeng and Zhang Dexin were invited to help restore the society and republish the "Acupuncture Magazine". When the work is carried out, it is equal to the start-up. After submitting the registration of Suzhou Health Bureau, he started working in 1951. Due to economic deficiencies, he could not invite Qiu Maoliang to the club quickly and could only discuss with him. Finally, with joint planning, we overcome difficulties and resume social affairs. The Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion was also re-issued as scheduled, and issuing an issue every two months. Later, the social seal was filed with the Southern Jiangsu Administrative Office and the Shanghai East China Ministry of Health, but it has not been specifically reviewed for a long time, while social affairs are developing day by day. He successively hired Huang Xuelong, Sun Yanru and Zheng Zhuoren as vice presidents, and several additional staff were hired. At the end of the year, Qiu Maoliang and his former student Lu Shanzhong were invited to the society to participate in the society's affairs. We still adopted the method of social-school maintenance in the past to lay the foundation for the establishment of acupuncture schools and acupuncture experimental institutes. However, at that time, the level of understanding was low, he did not understand the new policies, and only cared about doing things in accordance with the old rules and worked hard. In addition to applying for filing according to the rules, he lacked contact with the government. At that time, the government authorities in East China and South Jiangsu also had no clear confirmation of acupuncture and attention, so they could not let go of work.
In 1952, Cheng Dan'an's heart disease gradually became worse, and the social affairs changed to starting from actual treatment and research, and stopped absorbing new members. After announcing this intention to the staff and planning to run a company in Wuxi in the past to use the surplus of books to make business funds, the staff will provide bonuses based on their salary, and all staff members agree. After summer, I was almost sick and went to Shanghai to recuperate for half a year, and the staff took care of the social affairs. At the end of the year, the surplus will be distributed according to the old rules of industry and commerce, and will only be verbally distributed in proportion. By the spring of 1953, his illness was slightly cured and he returned to Suzhou to recuperate. He learned that his operating surplus last year was distributed in proportion except for tax payments and a small amount of reserves and benefits deposits, and no more funds were added to start a business, which greatly lost the intention of calmness. We will discuss with employees repeatedly and deposit additional funds for the establishment of colleges and universities. This opinion was not approved by Qiu and Wang. Cheng Dan'an listened to what they did, secretly fearing that his verbal conventions were not good, and he felt that comrades were rare, which caused a second mistake. From then on, no longer care about the business affairs of the club, and he is willing to give the acupuncture club to employees unconditionally. But no one accepts it. At this time, I felt deeply depressed and could not resolve myself. After the autumn, his physical strength gradually recovered, so he worked with a few comrades including Qiu and Wang to work in outpatient clinics. After the examination, he revised the acupuncture lecture notes and planned to have a preliminary research work plan to submit it to the Suzhou Health Bureau for approval. After approval, he would set up an observation bed to absorb the patients and engage in research and treatment. I will no longer ask about issuance and business, and the report has not been restored for a long time, and I feel very depressed. Until the summer of 1954, when the Shanxi Province held a meeting, the government had to take over the work of Dan'an in the hospital and was allowed by the government to suspend the acupuncture club, and from then on, it was a pleasure to get rid of the heavy burden of industrial and commercial enterprises.
Glorious Task
In early June 1954, Cheng Dan'an came to Ning for the first time to attend the traditional Chinese medicine congress and met Jiangyin County Chinese medicine representative Ma Zeren. He told Cheng Dan'an: "You have been elected as the people's representative of Jiangyin County, and the medical community of Cheng Dan'an has sent the congratulatory letter." Chengtan's heart was shocked when he received this news, and it was difficult to be confident in his thoughts. Chengtan An has never loved social activities and has been away from his hometown for many years. Except for his childhood visit to Jiangyin County with primary school teachers to visit the results exhibition, and when he was a child, he went to mourn the family's second funeral when he was a child, he has never been to his hometown. Except for relatives, few people know Cheng Tan'an. Is there any mistake in how to be elected as the people's representative this time? Many problems caused me to not sleep well overnight. Later, he informed Cao Minggao about this matter, and Cao said, "Since there is a congratulatory letter issued by the medical community in Jiangyin County, there will be no mistakes. This is a glorious task. There is no special burden after being a representative. The actual work is to be a bridge between the people and the government, so there is no need to worry too much." After returning to the Soviet Union, he received a congratulatory letter from Jiangyin, and received a notice from the Provincial People's Congress, and attended the meeting in Jin Province in July. During the meeting, I realized that the Party and the government listened to the opinions of the people and served the people sincerely. The friendly attitude of all the leaders especially touched Chengtan'an and strengthened Chengtan's enthusiasm to serve the people. In September of the same year, he officially worked at the Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine; in November, he was appointed as the principal of the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This position as principal made Cheng Danan bear a new ideological burden. Although Chengtan'an had run acupuncture schools and taught students in the past, it was held privately in the past, with different times and different methods. Now this school is cultivating traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, and is responsible for cultivating new forces in the provincial traditional Chinese medicine community, and is responsible for the important task of carrying forward the Chinese medicine. Whether in terms of academic cultivation and service ability, Cheng Dan'an is not commensurate in any way for the position of principal who has such important tasks. He is also plagued by illness and cannot work like healthy people. At that time, the school affairs were entirely presided over by the vice principal, so the school had to achieve success, which was entirely due to the support of the vice principal's leadership and superiors. Cheng Danan made no contribution in one and a half years. However, the superiors took special care of Cheng Dan'an's sick body. Many meetings did not inform Cheng Dan'an, which made Cheng Dan'an live for more than a year, and he felt guilty. In the winter of 1954, he participated in the Second Central Political Consultative Conference and was honored to shake hands and talk with Comrade Mao Zedong. In the summer of 1955, the Chinese Academy of Sciences appointed Cheng Dan'an as a member of the school. This series of glorious events made Cheng Danan even more happy and ashamed, and he would never forget it.
Appendix Marriage Issues
Cheng Dan'an was introduced by his uncle when he was a child and was engaged to Wu Yumei, the eldest daughter born to his third aunt. After three years of marriage, he gave birth to a daughter named Huifen, and later changed her name to Fen.玉梅患肺病,于1928年病亡。 Before his death, Cheng Dan'an and his aunt Jiang Huailin renewed marriage, hoping that his daughter would not be abused by her stepmother. Huailin and Cheng Dan'an live in a similar place and often come to visit her sister's illness. Cheng Dan'an has no bad impression of his Wen Shu, so both parties agree with the words of his deceased wife. At that time, Cheng Dan'an opened a traditional Chinese medicine school with Zhu Yaoqing, Ji Airen and others in Suzhou. When his wife died, it was suspended due to insufficient funds.
Chengdan'an first moved to the home of Zhang Guangrong, a fellow villager from Taheng Street, Beisi, and set up a clinic with ophthalmologist Yang Hanzhang. Yang is deaf and humorous. There is a daughter from Qianpi Street who often accompanied her mother to diagnose her illness. She always talks about her family every time she comes, and she doesn't go there immediately. After leaving, Yang immediately joked with Cheng Dan'an and said in front of the owner Zhang Guangrong that Cheng Dan'an had an intention of a certain girl, thinking that she was joking. And Zhang Xin thought it was true. This news spread to Chengtan'an's hometown, Chengtan'an is unknown. Then he moved to Wangting to practice medicine. He gave the gift to the middle class and asked his relatives and friends to go to the Jiang family to discuss the marriage, but he was rejected. He said that Cheng Dan'an had bad morals outside, but actually thought Cheng Dan'an's family was poor.
Chengtan'an's father heard that Chengtan'an's character was wrong outside, so he wrote a long letter of self-pity, blaming himself for his lack of moral cultivation, and giving birth to this bad son. Since Cheng Dan'an has knowledge, he has never been scolded by his parents. After reading the letter, he was angry and sent it back to show his ambition! This shows that Cheng Tan'an does not do things that are misbehaved and are insulting. Later someone asked Cheng Dan'an how the little finger disappeared? The answer is always based on the treatment of childbirth. Except for relatives and friends, few people know the truth about this matter.
Jiang Huailin also has a strong personality. Since she has all inherited the swearing of Dan'an and has no loss of moral character, she came back resolutely regardless of the advice of her father and brother, hoping to share the joys and sorrows with Cheng'an. Chengtan Anneng completed
in 1931 "Chinese Acupuncture Therapy" and spent a period of poverty when he started the company, both of which were very helpful. Due to overwork, she had miscarriage and still had no rest. She had physical strength impaired and gradually became sick. She had not given birth for seven consecutive years.
After Cheng Dan'an's father died, he welcomed his mother to Wuxi. The old man was eager to hold his grandson. Seeing that Huai Lin was infertile and had a weak constitution, he asked Hua Meidi, the maid in the room, to be his concubine. Then, with the consent of all parties, he would be the second lover of Huawei. Soon after the War of Resistance broke out, Cheng Dan'an and Huailin went backwards, while Hua Meidi served his mother's hometown, and lived together in Sichuan in 1943.
