I am native to Yan'an. I have been growing up under the Party. I have been a party member for 69 years.

Less than a week after the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China closed, General Secretary Xi Jinping led the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee to pay tribute to the Yan'an Revolutionary Memorial Hall, and gave us a vivid and profound party class that reached the soul.

Every grass and tree in Yan'an carries the hot red memories. In an ordinary family like my family, three relatives sacrificed their lives for the country - after the " July 7 Incident ", my brother Zhejinmen and Zhejinban fell on the battlefield of the Anti-Japanese War; during the War of Liberation, my wife's brother, underground party member Bi Ruisheng, died in the line of duty... From the respected and beloved relatives, from the thousands of heroes, I deeply realized the important value of recording history and continuing traditions.

From the past 20 years since I started working in 1948, to the retirement in 1998, and then to the retirement, I have never stopped collecting information and cultural and historical research on the Yan'an spirit. After retiring, I seized the time to participate in various charity activities and devoted myself to preaching the spirit of Yan'an, but it was busier than before. Everyone calls me the "Yan'an Literature and History Dictionary", which makes me both proud and deeply feel a great responsibility. When I was preaching

, I often went to the former site of the revolutionary base with the students, and asked everyone to find a stone to sit on the ground, telling them the stories of the passionate young people who were self-reliant and worked hard in a difficult environment, and finally won the victory of the revolution. After a few dozen minutes, although the legs of the pants were stained with mud and my body was tired and sore, I felt very satisfied when I saw that the students' hearts were baptized and their spirits were extremely high.

As an old party member, I always keep in mind the fundamental purpose of the party’s “serving the people wholeheartedly”. The General Secretary’s earnest instructions further strengthened my confidence and determination to do this career well. Although I am nearly ninety years old, I will continue to use my remaining energy to preach the Yan'an spirit well, carry forward the glorious tradition of our party's hard struggle, and pass on the red gene from generation to generation.
