One day in August 1953, it was rumored that "Chairman Mao's niece" Chen Guosheng suddenly couldn't find his son. She searched everywhere the child might have gone, and even spent money to invite a corpse team. She searched in the river for a day and a night, but she found no trace of her son.
At this time, the anxious Chen Guosheng never expected that his 9-year-old son had already boarded the ferry to Wuhan and wanted to take the train to Beijing to find his "grandfather" Chairman Mao to clear his mother Chen Guosheng of grievances.
So, how can a mere 9-year-old child meet Chairman Mao alone? What is the point of his mother's "injustice"?
1. No evidence has caused rumors
1951, Chen Guosheng was invited by the central government to bring his children to Zhongnanhai to visit Chairman Mao. At that time, being able to see Chairman Mao with his own eyes and shaking hands with Chairman Mao was undoubtedly a supreme honor and a very proud thing. After returning home, Chen Guosheng naturally showed off to the villagers.
However, because the itinerary was too hasty, Chen Guosheng forgot to take a photo with Chairman Mao. Without photos, even though Chen Guosheng said that the smallpox was shattering, the villagers always kept doubting her identity as a "great niece". Some people who are more troubled laughed at her and said, "Since you call Chairman Mao as your uncle, why don't you go to Beijing to enjoy your life, but you have to live in this remote countryside? Look, you are just bragging!"
Because you can't take a photo with a great man, all Chen Guosheng's explanations seemed pale and powerless, and could only bear the ridicule and ridicule of others. She couldn't defend herself, and she felt a little aggrieved.
So, is Chen Guosheng the niece of the chairman? To understand this issue, we must start with Chen Guosheng's mother.
In fact, Chen Guosheng is the adopted daughter of Chairman's sister Mao Zejian.
In 1905, Mao Zejian was born in Shaoshan . His family conditions were very bad at that time. His father was unable to work, and his mother also suffered from severe eye disease and had poor vision. In such a family, Mao Zejian often hungry. Mao Zejian's mother saw that she was unable to support her daughter, so she adopted Mao Zejian to Mao Zedong's mother Wen Qimei.
When I first came to Mao’s family, Mao Zejian didn’t have a name yet. His family always called her “Jumei”, and “Jumei” was also very scared of a new family that was strange. She was afraid that she would be bullied in this family. However, after a period of life, "My Ju" found that her original worries were completely redundant. The three brothers of the Mao family took care of him in every way, especially the "third brother" Mao Zedong. Not only did he often tell stories to himself, but he also gave himself a nice name - Mao Zejian.
After that, with the help of the third brother, Mao Zejian was able to enter Changsha Women's Vocational School to learn knowledge. Here, Mao Zejian was influenced by many progressive young people and gradually found his future life direction.
From Shaoshan, Mao Zejian's horizons were opened little by little, and he transformed from a rustic rural girl to a thoughtful and cultural Marxist. In 1923, she had the honor to study at the Third Women's Normal School, and during this period she successfully joined the party and became a glorious Communist Party member. Later, Mao Zejian followed the third brother's footsteps and joined the wave of revolution. It was at this time that she met her future husband - Chen Fen .
Chen Fen is a student leader of Hunan No. 3 Normal School. Her family situation is similar to that of Mao Zejian. Although she is two years older than Mao Zejian, the two fell in love at first sight and decided to live a lifelong life.
1925, the two held a wedding in Hunan and officially got married.
Due to the busy career, the two of them did not consider having children as soon as possible after marriage. At this time, Chen Fen's brother-in-law died heroically while on duty. Chen Fen's sister was later wanted by the Kuomintang. The sister was afraid that her daughter would die on the way to escape, so she adopted her brother Chen Fen.Since then, Mao Zejian, who was originally the "aunt", became Chen Guosheng's "adoptive mother", and Mao Zejian also gave Chen Guosheng meticulous care and care like his biological daughter.
However, in that stormy era, the happiness of revolutionaries was always sweet and short-lived. In May 1928, Mao Zejian and his wife were exposed during the operation and both fell into the hands of the enemy. During the interrogation, Chen Fen was killed bravely.
After that, although Mao Zejian, who was pregnant with Rocca, escaped from the rescue of the Red Army troops, he was arrested and imprisoned again for various reasons. After being arrested, the reactionaries gave Mao Zejian two choices: one was to provide the hiding place of the Communist Party's underground organization and surrender himself in the newspaper; the other was to continue to resist and behead him to death. Faced with the coercion and temptation of the reactionaries, Mao Zejian's revolutionary will was not shaken at all, and he did not disclose any information about the party organization to the enemy. The enemy brutally killed him in anger.
On August 20, 1929, Mao Zejian was executed by the reactionaries at the age of 24.
After Mao Zejian's death, Chen Guosheng was sent to his grandmother's house to raise him. In order to escape the pursuit of the reactionaries, Chen Guosheng began to hide his identity and lived a low-key life.
National After the founding of New China , Mao Anying accidentally learned that his aunt's adopted daughter was still alive when he returned to his hometown to visit relatives. After that, with the help of local government officials, Mao Anying found Chen Guosheng's whereabouts.
After being found by the organization, Chen Guosheng wrote a letter to Chairman Mao, and in the reply, the Chairman affectionately called her "virtuous nephew". From this point of view, it is enough to prove the relationship between the two. After writing a letter to recognize her relatives, the Chairman immediately sent an invitation to Chen Guosheng, hoping that she could come to Beijing to meet her.
With excitement, Chen Guosheng followed Wen Yunchang and others to Beijing to wait for secretary Tian Jiaying to arrange a meeting with the chairman. Due to the tight time, Chen Guosheng forgot to take a photo with the chairman. It was precisely because of this negligence that later brought a series of troubles to Chen Guosheng.
After returning to his hometown from Beijing, rumors about "Chen Guosheng bragging" became more and more serious in the village, and Chen Guosheng often felt sad and crying because of the incident.
The villagers' ridicule of their mother made Song Yang, who was only 9 years old at the time, very angry. In order to "clean upset" his mother, a bold idea quietly arose in his heart.
2. It took a thousand miles to go to Beijing alone
One day in early August 1953, his mother Chen Guosheng asked his son Song Yangzheng to go to the bank in the town to get back ten yuan. Her instructions actually gave Song Yangzheng the opportunity to implement his plan. He hurried back to the house and changed into a clean dress. When Chen Guosheng saw his son change into clean clothes, he felt strange: he just went to the bank to get some cash, but how formal he picked it up?
But how could she know that after withdrawing the money, her son set out on the road to Beijing alone.
Gradually, the sky became darker and darker. Chen Guosheng, who was waiting for his son to come home at home, still could not see his son. She couldn't help but worry.
That night, Chen Guosheng searched every corner of the village but never found her son. At this time, she began to worry and hurriedly asked someone to help find her son.
The next day, Chen Guosheng suspected that his son might have fallen and drowned while playing by the river. So she led a large group of people to find the salvage team, but the salvage team searched the river for a day and a night but found no trace of Song Yangzheng.
Just when Chen Guosheng was so anxious that he was trying to find his son, Song Yang had already boarded the train to Beijing. After arriving in Beijing, the first thing Song Yangzheng did was to find someone named "Tian Jiaying".
itl
It turned out that Song Yangzheng had heard his mother mention this person repeatedly. When his mother came to Beijing to meet the chairman, this person was responsible for receiving it.
As Chairman Mao’s personal secretary, who doesn’t know Tian Jiaying’s name in Beijing? So that night, Song Yang, who was only 9 years old, came to Tian Jiaying's home under the guidance of a kind-hearted person.
After meeting Tian Jiaying, Song Yangzheng said straight to the point: "I am here to find my grandfather Chairman Mao. Uncle, can you let me see him?"
Song Yangzheng told Tian Jiaying that he is the son of Chairman Mao's niece Chen Guosheng. Since he came to Beijing last time to meet the chairman, the people in the village have been wrongly accusing his mother of being a "liar". This time he came to Beijing to let his grandfather clear his mother of his grievances and let his grandfather send him to a school in Beijing.
After knowing the little boy's identity, Tian Jiaying immediately wrote a "safety letter" to Chen Guosheng, who was thousands of miles away, so that Chen Guosheng could understand his son's safety and whereabouts.
The next day, Tian Jiaying reported Song Yangzheng's incident to the chairman: "Chairman, Chen Guosheng's son has arrived in Beijing and he came alone. I see that he is exhausted all the way, as if he has suffered a lot of crimes."
Chairman immediately realized after hearing this that Chen Guosheng must be extremely anxious at this time, so he instructed Tian Jiaying: Send the child back as soon as possible.
After saying that, the chairman then picked up the pen and wrote a handwritten letter for Chen Guosheng, who was thousands of miles away, and in the letter, he also brought 100 yuan to Chen Guosheng.
Why did Chairman give Chen Guosheng one hundred yuan?
It turned out that after learning about Chen Guosheng's situation, the chairman specially took out 100 yuan from the royalties to sponsor Chen Guosheng's son to buy stationery and clothes. Although the Chairman, as the head of state, has great power, he never uses it as his family and relatives. Song Yangzheng wanted the Chairman to arrange for him to study in a school in Beijing. First, this was a violation of discipline. Second, there were relatively few schools in Beijing at that time, and Song Yangzheng's transfer was difficult to arrange. Therefore, the chairman paid out of his own pocket and hoped that the money would bring some help to Chen Guosheng and her children.
After this, Song Yang was taking Chairman Mao’s handwritten letter and the 100 yuan cash back to his mother in a special car arranged by the government.
When the government's special car was parked in front of Chen Guosheng's house, the surrounding villagers surrounded him. When they saw that Song Yang was getting out of the car, everyone showed a surprised expression. It was not until this moment that they realized that Chen Guosheng, who had always said to be "liars", had an extraordinary identity.
After that, the government staff handed all the letters and cash to Chen Guosheng, and blessed her: "The Chairman invites you to see him again in Beijing."
3. Take a photo with the Chairman
On June 7, 1955, Chen Guosheng came to Beijing again with other relatives of the Chairman and met his "third uncle" Chairman Mao again.
Seeing Chairman Chen Guosheng holding his hand tightly, he asked her how much she could earn in a month and whether it was enough for the expenses of the six people in the family. When they learned that the couple had only 80 yuan a month, the chairman told his assistant privately: They had met the standards of needy households.
After that, the assistant reported the situation to the relevant departments. After consideration, the leaders of the relevant departments decided to give Chen Guosheng a subsidy of 20 yuan more than a month.
After a long time of greeting, the chairman took them to have dinner at home and watched a movie. After the movie ended, everyone said goodbye, but Chen Guosheng was reluctant to leave, thinking that he would take a photo with the chairman no matter what. Seeing Chen Guosheng's desire to speak but stopping, the Chairman kindly asked her if she had anything to say to her. Seeing this, Chen Guosheng replied embarrassedly:
"Chairman, I was not here to take a photo last time. I have always thought about making up for this regret. I want to take a photo with you and leave a souvenir."
Chairman readily agreed to Chen Guosheng's request. In this way, Chen Guosheng fulfilled his wish. This precious photo is not only an honor, but also the most powerful evidence to prove his identity.
This time, Chen Guosheng never went to Beijing again. Although he rarely met the Chairman, he always remembered the Chairman's care in his heart, and every time he thought about it, he remembered it vividly. In order to make Chen Guosheng live a better life, Chairman Mao would spend 200 yuan from his own royalties every year to send her.
In 1990, Chen Guosheng was asked about his relationship with the chairman during an interview, worried about what trouble it would bring. Chen Guosheng told him seriously: "Chairman Mao deserves everyone's admiration. When we met several times before, the Chairman affectionately called me a nephew. Every time he asked about my family's situation and gave me care in life. But I am not actually a member of the Mao family and have no blood relationship with the Chairman."
Chairman's care for Chen Guosheng's family is something she will never forget in her life. From beginning to end, she never thought about what kind of benefits she would benefit from this relationship, including her children, and taught them to follow the chairman and learn from the chairman's behavior and style.
4. Conclusion
