On September 13, a "case filing report" was reported by the Navy Party Committee and the State Council. In the report, Li Zuopeng said:
"The Kuomintang secret service agency has long instigated Zhang Xuesi, and there may be major political issues. Please ask for instructions to isolate and review Zhang Xuesi, and announce Zhang's problems to leaders and revolutionary masses at all levels of the Navy's direct agencies."

After seeing the report submitted by the Navy Party Committee, Premier Zhou Enlai felt that there was no evidence for this matter, so he ordered on the report: ", this matter will be considered when Comrade Chengwu comes back! ." However, before Yang Chengwu comes back to investigate Zhang Xuesi's problems, he was thrown into prison.
Because she couldn't see her husband, Xie Xueping felt very stressed. One day, several people came to the house. They looked at it sneakily and said to Xie Xueping in a low voice: "We are the task force sent by our superiors. You and Zhang Xuesi attended the 25th anniversary reception for the Xi'an Incident in 1961. Where did you notify you? Who hosted the meeting? What did they say? What activities did they have?"
Seeing that these people were not like good people, Xie Xueping thought to herself: "It was the reception hosted by Premier Zhou at that time. What do they want to do?" Thinking of this, Xie Xueping came out of her anger and drove them out of the house.
In October, Zhang Xuesi wrote a letter to Premier Zhou Enlai. In the letter, Zhang Xuesi said:
"I betrayed the class I came from and followed the path guided by Chairman Mao for 30 years in the party. Although I have had all kinds of shortcomings and mistakes in my work, I guarantee to the party with my party spirit and life that I am definitely not a traitor, a spy, or a counter-revolutionary... I have written three letters to the Navy Party Committee, but no reply has been made, and no one has spoken to me, so I wrote this letter to you."
However, what made Zhang Xue unable to think was that Premier Zhou Enlai had not received his letter at all, so there was no reply.

Later, several of Zhang Xuesi's children also wrote letters to Premier Zhou to report the situation at home to Premier Zhou Enlai. But all these letters were confiscated. The children were also intimidated, asking them to "don't complain everywhere."
In desperation, Xie Xueping wrote a letter to the great leader Chairman Mao, preparing to tell Chairman Mao about the situation at home and get help from Chairman Mao. Unfortunately, Xie Xueping's letter was also confiscated. In this way, Xie Xueping spent three years worriedly. In these three years, she has never seen her husband.

That day, Xie Xueping took her daughter to see her husband together. Looking at her husband who weighs only 90 pounds, Xie Xueping felt very distressed and couldn't help but shed tears.

On February 26, after several days of examination, Zhang Xuesi was diagnosed with hematogenous disseminated tuberculosis. One day in 1940, in Qingliangshan, Yan'an, Xie Xueping, a revolutionary young woman from Guangdong, was studying. A classmate named Gu Hong from the same class came in and asked Xie Xueping: "The new market is open. Do you want to go to the new market?" Thinking that he was about to buy two notebooks, he replied: "Go!"
This new market, located in the south of Yan'an City, is a newly built trade market at the end of 1939. On the door of the market, there are five big words "Yan'an New Market" proposed by Chairman Mao and written by Shu Tong. In addition, Chairman Mao also wrote a couplet for the new market.
So, Xie Xueping and Gu Hong walked down Qingliangshan . Just as they were about to cross Yanhe , a horse ran from the north gate of Yan'an.

Xie Xueping didn't know this young man and didn't take it seriously. After arriving at the new market, Xie Xueping and Gu Hong were looking at things in front of the stall. When they felt something was coming from behind, they subconsciously turned their heads.
Xie Xueping took a closer look and said, "Yo", isn't this the young man who just rode a horse? Has he come to the new market specifically? After coming to his senses, Xie Xueping pulled Gu Hong on the side. Gu Hong turned around and said, "Ah, Zhang Fang!"
Xie Xueping didn't know who Zhang Fang was, so she didn't interrupt. So Gu Hong and Zhang Fang started chatting. After a while, Gu Hong pointed at Xie Xueping and said to Zhang Fang, "This is my classmate Little Guangdong." As he said that, he said to Xie Xueping, "This is Zhang Fang."
Hearing Gu Hong's introduction, Xie Xueping nodded politely and didn't think much about it. Zhang Fang asked, "Why are you doing?" Gu Hong pointed to Xie Xueping and said, "She wants to buy a notebook."

When they arrived in Zhang Fang's cave, the two of them chose books and chatted. During the chat, Xie Xueping learned that Zhang Fang was the captain of the Northeast cadre team of the Anti-Japanese University and also had his own cave. After getting the notebook, the two of them left the cave together and went to the foot of the mountain to find Gu Hong. Afterwards, Xie Xueping and Gu Hong returned to Qingliang Mountain together.
About a week, Xie Xueping went to the cafeteria to prepare for dinner. When she was passing by the door of the General Affairs Office, she saw a person looking up the mountain, as if she was waiting for someone. After a closer look, it turned out to be Zhang Fang, so he walked up to say hello. After all, he had given him a notebook, which was a kind of politeness.
Before Xie Xueping could come to the front, Zhang Fang shook his hand and shouted loudly, "Comrade Xie Xueping, what are you doing here! What are you doing?" After hearing the shouting, Xie Xueping was also honest and said, "Go to have dinner." Zhang Fang smiled and said, "Don't go to the cafeteria, let's go out to eat!"
Xie Xueping was not mentally prepared for Zhang Fang's invitation, thinking, "This person is so funny! Why did he treat me out to dinner! Could it be that he is waiting for someone?" So Xie Xueping spoke up Question: "What are you doing here? Are you waiting for someone?" Zhang Fang said: "If you don't wait for anyone, just wait for you!" In the sweet relationship, Xie Xueping and Zhang Xuesi gradually fell in love and entered the palace of marriage together. The wedding was held in a cave in Yan'an. This year, Xie Xueping was 20 years old and Zhang Xuesi was 24 years old.
In life after marriage, Xie Xueping and Zhang Xuesi are very loving, but they are very loving. As a military general, Zhang Xuesi needed to lead troops to fight, and Xie Xueping often moved. The two of them spent that period of war. During the period when their child was born, Zhang Xuesi was very happy. As long as he had time, he would hold the child and accompany them to grow up. Looking at Zhang Xuesi with a loving look on his face, Xie Xueping felt that such a life was a happy one!
When they were together, the two cherished it very much. Xie Xueping made delicious dishes for her husband, and Zhang Xuesi also talked to her wife about some revolutionary topics.
From Zhang Xuesi's mouth, Xie Xueping learned that her husband's father was the famous Northeast Old Man in charge of Zhang Zuolin . In 1933, her husband joined Communist Party of China . As an underground party member, he traveled thousands of miles from Hong Kong to Yan'an in 1938.

I know that Zhang Xuesi's identity is extraordinary. After Zhang Xuesi came to Yan'an, Chairman Mao also warmly met him and cared for him very much.
1939, Zhang Xuesi joined the Eighth Route Army. Not long after, Zhang Xuesi was appointed as the captain of the Northeast Cadres Team by the organization. Even so, Zhang Xuesi never showed superiority. He was always modest and cautious at home and outside, and was kind to others.
Later, Zhang Xuesi served as the Director of the General Staff Department of the Hebei Central Military Region Command, Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief of the First Section of the Hebei Central Military Region, Director of the General Staff Department of the Jin-Cha-Hebei Military Region, Chief of Staff Department of the Pingxi Military Sub-district, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the 11th Military Sub-district. After the Japanese invaders surrendered, Zhang Xuesi was ordered to return to the northeast and served as the chairman of the Liaoning Provincial Government and commander of the Liaoning Military Region. Later, Zhang Xuesi served as vice chairman of the Northeast Administrative Committee and vice president of the Anton Naval School. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Zhang Xuesi was appointed as the vice principal and deputy political commissar of Dalian Naval School.

That night, Zhang Xuesi and members of the Navy were invited to attend the National Day dinner. At the banquet, Commander Xiao Jinguang and Zhang Xuesi came to Chairman Mao on behalf of the Navy to toast the great leader.

In March 1953, Zhang Xuesi was appointed as the deputy chief of staff of the Navy of the People's Liberation Army of China. In September 1955, the People's Liberation Army implemented the military rank system, and Zhang Xuesi was awarded the rank of Major General.
In 1956, under the care of Chairman Mao, Zhang Xuesi was sent to the Soviet Union's Naval Academy of Leningrad Voroshilov to study. Two years of study have allowed Zhang Xuesi to master many naval management techniques. He is also determined to devote his life to the naval construction of the motherland.
When we met with representatives of the Navy Party Committee, Chairman Mao held Zhang Xuesi's hand and said kindly: "You are a military cadre who has been studying in the Soviet Union and knows the professionalism of the navy. Our naval construction task is very heavy. I hope you can play a more role."
In March 1961, Zhang Xuesi was appointed Chief of Staff of the Navy. Just when Zhang Xuesi was about to show his strength in the navy, he suffered a sudden disaster for no reason.
On May 29, 1970, Zhang Xuesi passed away and failed to fulfill his long-cherished wish to build a strong navy, nor could he meet his beloved wife and children.

As a couple who have been together for 30 years, Xie Xueping knew that her husband felt wronged. In order to give her husband an explanation, Xie Xueping sat at the table and spent a long time writing a letter.
On April 27, 1972, Xie Xueping came to the door of Zhongnanhai with her written letter and handed the letter to Chairman Mao’s guard.
Seeing the letter written by Xie Xueping, Chairman Mao was very heartbroken and said with tears: "When I was in Yan'an, I knew Zhang Xuesi. He was a very progressive young man who had been trained for a long time. I really didn't expect that the talent of a navy would be gone like this, a pity!" Immediately afterwards, Chairman Mao issued an instruction: "Send Comrade Ye Jianying to read the meeting!"
After receiving the letter transferred by Chairman Mao, Ye Jianying was also very heartbroken and immediately instructed the General Political Department: "Re-examination carefully so that it can be handled correctly." In addition, Ye Jianying instructed Xiao Jinguang to lead the Navy Party Committee to investigate Zhang Xuesi's matter clearly. Premier Zhou Enlai, who was sick, also gave instructions many times, requiring that the matter be investigated!
In 1975, under the personal inquiries of Chairman Mao, Premier Zhou Enlai and Ye Jianying, Zhang Xuesi’s affairs were handled fairly, restoring Zhang Xuesi’s reputation.
On April 19, Major General Zhang Xuesi's ashes were placed in grand manner, and then his ashes were placed on the front of the first room of the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery.

Looking at Zhang Xuesi's portrait, Xie Xueping burst into tears and murmured: "Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou believe in you and return you justice. If you know you in the spring, you will definitely feel relieved!"
In 2016, on the occasion of Zhang Xuesi's 100th birthday, Xie Xueping, who was already 96 years old, donated 13 relics of Zhang Xuesi and Zhang Xuesi's mother to Zhang's Mansion Museum . Zhang Xuesi's relics finally returned to Zhang's Mansion .
On April 8, 2022, Xie Xueping died in Beijing due to ineffective treatment at the age of 102.
