Northern Song graceful school poets. He is one of the representative figures of Gaoyou . In Gaoyou City, the famous literary tour platform is closely related to him. About 40 years ago, Gaoyou wanted to set up a statue for Qinguan , but because there was no photography technology in ancient times and there was no portrait of ancestors to check, how to determine the shape and spirit when carving the statue, and how to grasp the details, after a bumpy search and "struggle". After the efforts of the sculptor and relevant staff, a lifelike statue of Qin Guan stood on the cultural tour platform. Recently, the "Sanduo Town Chronicle" in Gaoyou, Yangzhou, recorded the behind-the-scenes story recalled by Zhu Weining, the former secretary of the Gaoyou County Government who participated in the matter.

"Qin Guan is tall or short, fat or thin, and cannot imagine at all." Zhu Weining recalled that there were no photos or images of his ancestors, so he could only find the appearance of Qin Guan from ancient books and paintings. In 1983, with the assistance of Mr. Chu Yuanfang, a literati from Gaoyou, the team found an English version of "Biography of Su Dongpo" in Shanghai Library. It contains a "Elegant Collection of Western Gardens" with the scene of literati such as Su Shi and Qin Guan at a gathering. In the album of famous people in the Song Dynasty, portraits of Qin Guan were also found. Although
has been proven, it is believed that the portrait can be based on it. But it is very difficult to sculpt the whole body of the statue. With everyone's efforts, the sculpture changed from a flat image to a three-dimensional image, and changed the sitting posture in the original painting to a standing posture.
Zhu Weining recalled that the person who held a knife for Qin Guan's statue was Yan Friend, a master of sculpture art master Zhang Congren. He went to Gaoyou twice to inspect the Wenyou platform and set the height of the statue to 2.4 meters (excluding the platform). There was a disagreement in the team, and some people believed that the height was 1.9 meters. Friend Yan believes that Qin Guan is a tough talent and outstanding poet, and he will never let him down. In the end, the statue was set at 2.4 meters in height.
The team also made full considerations in terms of details, especially Qin Guan’s beard. The ancients usually had long hair and had to cover their chests. When reviewing Qin Guan's portrait draft, some people thought his long hair was a bit "crazy", so they used a bachelor's hat to replace the "no crown". "The goat beard I considered at the beginning was a bit messy, but the statue showed his appearance when he was 32 years old. It should be a handsome and handsome image. I proposed to change the goat beard to a horoscope." Zhu Weining introduced that the statue finally confirmed the horoscope.
On the other hand, according to experts, there are differences between half-body avatars and full-body standing statues. Generally, the avatars are placed indoors and the standing statues are placed outdoors. At the same time, the figures are also different from the Bodhisattva statues. The former is mostly placed outdoors, while the latter is mostly placed indoors. Since Qin Guan is a historical figure, he is also a full-body statue, so he should be erected outdoors.
In the end, after repeated polishing, Qin Guan’s statue "standing" on the literary tour platform, becoming the finishing touch here.
