If you can find a way to waive me this escort task, I will give you the sword passed down to you. What do you think?"
Gongsun Xu said repeatedly: "Brother, don't worry, this It was not difficult at all, it was covered by me." Then he ran to pay homage to Mengchangjun Tian Wen and said to Mengchangjun: "Master, the reason why there are so many small countries that are willing to make you the prime minister is because you can save the weak and poor people and find heirs for those who have cut off their descendants to continue the incense. Everyone appreciates your benevolence and righteousness and admires your integrity. Now you have accepted the ivory bed of the King of Chu. What will the country you are about to visit to treat you next?" Mengchangjun felt it made sense when he heard it, so he sent someone to return the ivory bed to the King of Chu. Seeing that his goal was achieved, Gongsun Xu turned around and ran out happily, preparing to ask for the big sword from Dengtuzhi. You read that right, he ran directly. Mengchangjun was so smart that he knew something was wrong at first glance, so he sent someone to call Gongsun Xu back quickly. At this time, Gongsun Xu had not yet run out of the small gate of Mengchangjun's yard. Mengchangjun asked Gongsun Xu: "Why are you so happy? Is there anything I don't know?" Gongsun Xu quickly told Mengshenjun the truth. Mengchangjun laughed and asked someone to hang a wooden board at the gate, which said: "Everyone who can help me make a name for and can correct my Tian Wen's faults, even if it is accepted by someone else's bribes, come in and give your opinions quickly."
Sima Guang comments: Mengchangjun's performance is a correct way to open it with good at listening to opinions. As long as the opinions are good, even if the person who gives them has a different purpose, he should listen to them, let alone the opinions expressed by loyal and selfless people!
Sima Guang's story is very good. When people listen to opinions, they often only listen to what they want to hear and what they think is right. They usually don't listen to what they don't match their psychological expectations. At the same time, the mistakes that often make are labeling people. If you listen carefully to opinions that you think you are good people, you will mostly ignore opinions that you think you are bad people. If the person who makes suggestions has ulterior motives, he will also have preconceived ideas and even his opinions are completely denied. Of course, these are wrong. If people want to go far in the workplace, they must use rationality to judge the right or wrong of things rather than emotions. Of course this is difficult to do.
Sima Guang wrote Zizhi Tongjian to teach Song Dynasty how to be a good emperor. In this story, he also contains private goods. The literati group has a particularly classic tradition, that is, "willing to die in literature", especially those who do not work and only pick on tricks.
