Recently, Soft Science released the top 100 universities in China's liberal arts science 2022. This rating includes eight dimensions: discipline scale, discipline strength, discipline accuracy, high-end talents, scientific research projects, major achievements, academic papers and scientific research platforms. Guangdong, which is known for its wealth and billions, has seven of the top 100 liberal arts schools, ranking among the top in the number.
According to media reports, around 2015, Guangdong's investment in colleges and universities reached 30 billion in three years. In 2018, the total investment in local education funds in Guangdong Province was 426.843 billion yuan, accounting for 9.25% of the total investment in national education funds. In recent years, it has only increased and not decreased.

As one of the oldest universities in China, Jinan University first opened a medical school in a comprehensive university and first created a business department. Among the best disciplines in China in 2022, Jinan University ranked in applied economics in the top 5% in the country, ranking 10th in the country and 1st in Guangdong Province. Jinan University currently has 26 first-level discipline doctoral degree awarding sites and 41 first-level discipline master's degree awarding sites.

South China Normal University is A-level, ranking 28th, first Hunan Normal University , and later Xi'an Jiaotong University .
South China Normal University is committed to improving the quality of Guangdong’s teaching staff and building a high-end think tank in Southern Education. It currently has 20 first-level doctoral degree authorization points and 33 first-level master’s degree authorization points.

South China University of Science and Technology is A-level, ranking 44th, first Central University of Finance and Economics , and then Shenzhen University .
South China University of Technology is known for its expertise in engineering, integrating science, engineering and medicine, and coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as management, economics, literature, and law. It currently has 35 first-level discipline doctoral degree awarding sites and 40 first-level discipline master's degree awarding sites.
