To celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, praise the prosperity and strength of the great motherland, carry forward the spirit of patriotism, and cultivate students' patriotism, on the evening of September 29, Huai'an Middle School held the 2022 National Day Speech Competition final in the lecture hall on the first floor of the History Museum of the School. The secretary of the Youth League branch of each class and the student union cadres watched the competition.
Huai'an Middle School Vice Principal Ma Jun, Director of the Propaganda Center Ren Jianwei, Director of the Academic Affairs Office Ding Jun, Director of the Student Affairs Office Xu Huailiang, Leaders of various departments and grades, Zhang Ling, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of Wentong Middle School, and Li Wei, Deputy Secretary, were invited to attend the speech final. Liang Yan, vice chairman of the school trade union, and Shao Juan, deputy director of the school office, served as judges in the speech finals. The competition was hosted by Huang Zixin, Class 19, Department I, Senior High School.

During the speech, the contestants combined their own experiences and feelings to tell the development and changes of the motherland over the past 73 years, or praise the brilliant achievements made by the motherland over the past 73 years, or express their loyalty and love for the Party, the motherland and the people, express their patriotism, love for the school, and love for the family, and express their youthful passion of "studying for the rise of China". judges scored and selected the contestants' speeches from the aspects of content theme, language expression, demeanor and manners. In the end, three students including Chen Jiale, Class 7 of the Senior 3 Department II, Chen Yiyao of the Curriculum Experimental Department (Senior High School), and Guo Xinyuan of the 5th Class of I of the Senior 3 won the first prize; five students including Yang Siqi of the Senior 3 Department I of the Senior 3 won the first prize; seven students including Zhu Wenyuan of the Class 8 of the Senior 2 Department II of the Senior 3 won the second prize.

Deputy Director of the School Office Shao Juan commented on the speech final. She fully affirmed the contestants' wonderful speeches and excellent performances, and hoped that the students would live up to their youth, cherish time, study hard, and realize their lofty dreams.
Finally, Xu Huailiang, director of the Student Affairs Office, delivered a speech.
