Haike Community’s first children’s forum

In order to listen to children’s voices, encourage children to participate in community construction, and promote the construction of child-friendly communities, on July 3, Haike Community in Tianfu Street held its first children’s forum A total of 28 children participated in the event.

The activity started with an ice-breaking game to allow the children to get familiar with the environment and get to know each other. Later, social worker Xiao Jing introduced to the children "What is a Children's Council" and "What is a Children's Council?" and explained to everyone the relevant knowledge of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

In the interactive session, teacher Xiao Jing encouraged the children to speak up bravely and dare to "discuss matters". At the same time, through the popularization of knowledge about children's councils, children can understand and be able to "discuss matters" and improve children's awareness of participation. This discussion event used a competition to select the representatives of the children's council members. Through voting, 1 president, 2 vice presidents and 4 council members were elected.

Finally, the newly elected chairman of the council convened the first meeting of the children's council, and discussed and approved the rules of the Haike community children's council.

The establishment of the Children's Council of Haike Community in Tianfu Street aims to discover small problems in the community from the perspective of children. Members of the Children's Council will participate in community-related affairs as children's representatives, speak for the children's groups, and let Children’s opinions and suggestions are listened to, respected and adopted, and child-friendly concepts are integrated into Haike’s community development planning.
