On June 28, Guizhou University of Finance and Economics held the unveiling ceremony of the School of Physical Education at the Huaxi Campus. School leaders Liu Lei, Zhao Pu, Yang Yong, Zhu Keqian, Long Hua, Xu Dayou, Ge Jianjun, Peng Jie, Xiao Xiaohong, and school party committee member Zhou Jing attended the ceremony. At this point, the Sports College of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics was officially established.
Zhao Pu, the president of the school, said that the sports and economic management major of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics is the province's first applied undergraduate major in the direction of sports and economic management, and will make a positive contribution to the province's cultivation of interdisciplinary talents in sports and economics and management. This time the Sports Work Department was "disbanded and established as a college", which is not only in line with the school's "one body, two wings" overall layout of discipline construction, in line with the intrinsic needs of the physical education college's own development, but also in response to the country's call for the strategic layout of building a sports power. Zhao Pu required the college to pay special attention to professional and discipline construction in future development, and strive to form a sports college with distinctive characteristics and strong strength.
Yang Yong, deputy secretary of the party committee of the school, read out the approval from the Provincial Office of the Provincial Education Office on the renaming of the Sports Work Department to the School of Physical Education.
Liu Lei, Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, unveiled the plaque, and the attendees witnessed the establishment of the Institute of Physical Education.
More than 150 people in total attended the unveiling ceremony, including guests from relevant units outside the school, principals in charge of relevant functional departments of the school, alumni representatives, faculty representatives, and retired veteran comrade representatives.
