In Chongxianyuan, in Anping Town, Jialing District, Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, there is a famous mountain that stretches for thirty or forty miles, with strange rocks and cliffs, lush trees and beasts. This mountain is called Yuntai Mountain, also known as Jinjiling.

Although this mountain is not worth mentioning compared with famous mountains such as Emei, Qingcheng , and Mount Tai, it is also a bit famous in the northeastern Sichuan region.
Because there are two huge rocks on the hillside, I don’t know when they flew in. The estimated weight is more than 100 tons respectively. These two natural giant rocks are shaped like stone dragons and stone tigers, which are in line with the traditional Chinese left green dragons and white tigers Feng Shui theory. They are the first choice for Buddhist and Taoist schools to build temples, and are also the place for military and bandits to yearn for.
This mountain also has a miserable and tragic story with the peasant uprising army in the late Ming Dynasty Zhang Xianzhong .

On the top of Yuntai Mountain, there was once a temple. Because it was located in the mountain ridge east of Chongxianyuan, it was called Dongling Temple, also known as Donglin Temple. Donglin Temple was first built in the eighth year of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty (1635), with more than ten monks permanently resident.
According to local chronicles, in the 17th year of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty, that is, the first year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1644), Zhang Xianzhong led the rebel army from Chengdu to Nanchong County, Shunqing Prefecture, and passed by Anping Town (called Hotel Temple and Jiudian Temple at that time). He was stationed in Jinjiling, which was located in the high-rise Jinjiling and occupied Donglin Temple. Because the temple could not provide enough food and horse grass, Zhang Xianzhong was furious and killed all eighteen monks in Donglin Temple.

It is rumored that the only one in the temple who escaped this disaster was a big rooster raised in the backyard. At dawn the next day, the rooster witnessed the tragic scene in the temple. The sadness aroar arose from the heart, and the neck was whineful, and the cry was like crying. The rooster was like this every day, and the villagers who escaped the murder were lucky enough to cry when they heard the sound, and their sorrow came from their hearts. This rooster is walking on the mountain, never leaving for years, only hearing the sound, but not seeing the shadow. In the early morning of every day, you must cry three times at the top of the mountain, so this mountain is named Jinjiling.

For hundreds of years since then, the legendary golden rooster was hidden in a cave after practicing it into essence, and it is also said that it was stolen by the stolen treasure. A clear spring in the mountain stream gushed over the years, descending down the mountain, continuing to nourish the villagers. Although Donglin Temple has been washed by wind and rain, it still has broken walls. In the 1970s, local Taoist believers spontaneously donated money to rectify, repair and expand Donglin Temple. Now about 50 years have passed, and the incense of Donglin Temple is becoming increasingly prosperous, and it is called a well-known Taoist holy land.
