In the world of Chinese literature, the two words "vote" and "motivate" are widely used.
Anyone who has been in contact with [fó] studies or has been to a monastery has heard of it: volunteering to help with cleaning, volunteering to help carry things, etc.
Although we have heard the word motivation many times, few people know what motivation is specifically.

The same is true for the word "make a wish". There is a saying that "If you want to learn [fó], make a wish first" . There is a famous Samantabhadra's Ten Great Vows : One is to pay homage to all [fó], the other is to praise the Tathagata...
So, what exactly does it mean to make vows and resolve? What's the difference between the two?
Faxin is to open the mind
From the Chinese character meaning, Fa means to issue, which means to announce, announce, express, elaborate, produce, appear, appear, reveal, cause, and start.
A wish refers to a person's inner wish, hope, willingness, willingness, or the goal and degree that he wants to achieve.
The heart of motivation refers to a person’s thoughts, ideas, feelings, temperament, and will. It refers more to a person’s will, mind, ambition, and ambition.

Motivation and vows mainly refer to a person’s intention, goal, hope, or the degree of choice or selection, or the state he wants to achieve.
Generally speaking, motivation refers to raising one's mind, mind, and ideas from the ordinary and narrow level of daily necessities, rice, oil, and salt to a higher level.
At different heights of a person's cultivation, he sees different people, things, and objects. Just like mountaineering, the scenery seen at the foot of the mountain is completely different from the scenery seen when walking to the mountainside or top.
Therefore, aspiration means that a person should constantly open and improve his mind, aspirations, and ambitions.
However, in many monasteries, people think that motivation is to help the monastery do some activities for free, such as cleaning and carrying things, and then the monastery provides lunch for them. In fact, this is a misunderstanding of motivation.

Therefore, making a wish means that you did not have a goal before, but now you have to set a goal for yourself in life or a goal that can be achieved in a few years or a few months.
Simply put, making a wish means setting a clear and definite goal for yourself.
What kind of person you want to be, what level you hope to achieve, and what knowledge or skills you hope you can learn. These are all called aspirations.
For example, if a person makes a wish to learn a foreign language within three years, or makes a wish to pass a certain exam within a year, this is a wish.
Therefore, making a wish is to establish a specific, clear goal for yourself that can be achieved through hard work.
Generally speaking, making a wish refers more to choosing an object or model.

For example, a disciple who likes Maitreya can practice according to Maitreya's cultivation methods, such as "Maitreya Bodhisattva Sutra on the Upper Rebirth", "Maitreya Bodhisattva Sutra on the Lower Rebirth", etc..
If you are determined to use his teachings as a method of cultivation, then you must find, read, and think about all the classics and materials about him.
At the same time, we must also apply his teachings into daily life. For example, he left some of the most obvious characteristics to the public in the world: is always happy and has a big belly.
No matter who you see, you must be able to smile. Even when you wash your face, brush your teeth and look in the mirror, you must also smile happily to yourself.
In addition, his big belly can tolerate things that are difficult to tolerate in the world, so you must be broad-minded and don't get angry, complain, or feel sorry for yourself over trivial things.
Therefore, you must have a clear and definite goal or object when making a wish.

As long as you have a clear understanding, then let your words and actions be close to those of your role model.
The difference between making a wish and making a wish
Simply speaking, there are two points in difference between making a wish and making a wish.
Aspiration refers to the selection and setting of a specific goal, which is specific and clear. For example, someone says: I want to be a good person. This is a vague goal.
Therefore, the first difference between 's vows and motivation is that motivation is general and broad, while vows are specific, clear, and individual.

The second difference between motivation and vows is that motivation is never-ending, and vows can be gradually completed and realized.
The motivation is to continuously expand and expand your mind, ambition, and experience, from the original narrow self-centered state to expand your heart to embrace the world.
In short, the main difference between aspiration and motivation is that motivation is general, broad, and endless, while aspiration is specific, clear, and can be achieved through a period of hard work.
