Readers who are familiar with " Diamond Sutra " know that it is a classic work by Sakyamuni Buddha to answer questions and answer questions for his disciples Subhuti . It is conducted through a dialogue between two people on one question and answer. The language is vivid, the content is rich, the case is detailed, and it is as wonderful as a novel. Therefore, the Diamond Sutra is definitely a very excellent and excellent work. Even those who do not practice Buddhism are worth reading and reading, and to appreciate the power of Buddhist thought from the scriptures.
Reading the Diamond Sutra not only makes sense of Buddhist wisdom, but also cultivates personal emotional intelligence, that is, how to talk to teachers and how to ask valuable questions during the learning process. This is also a great question and has very important practical significance for modern working people who are struggling in the world.
Venouse Subhuti is one of the ten great disciples of Sakyamuni Buddha. It was under his question that Sakyamuni Buddha explained the Diamond Sutra. Next, we will take a look at how Subhuti asked Tathagata Buddha through the second chapter of the Diamond Sutra, and what does his question mean?
"Elder Subhuti was among the crowd. He rose from his seat. He was partial to his right shoulder. . The right knee was on the ground. . . The palms were put together to respect . And he said to the Buddha. . There is a World Honored One. . Tathagata . Good care and urge all Bodhisattvas. . World Honored One. Good man. Good woman. Develop the mind of Anuttara Samyaksambodhi. How to stay and how to subdue his heart. ”
From the above text, we can learn a lot. I think there are mainly the following aspects:
. First, Subhuti's respect for his teachers is worth learning. Elder Subhuti "took his right knee on the ground. He put his hands together and respectfully", which made people feel very ritualistic. Although Buddhism emphasizes the equality of all beings, Subhuti was as regular and respectful as a primary school student when asking questions about the Buddha. His respect for Tathagata is obvious, which is very similar to the behavior of students in ancient China when they asked for advice on teachers. His humble attitude is also the same as the attitude of studying that "know what you know, but don't know what you don't know" advocated by Confucianism. It can be seen that in terms of respecting teachers and being ashamed to ask questions, the views and requirements of Buddhism and Confucianism are consistent.
Second, Subhuti’s emotional intelligence and cultivation are worth learning. "There is a World-Honored One. The Tathagata protects and recites all Bodhisattvas well. He gives good advice to all Bodhisattvas." Before asking questions, the student first compliments the teacher for a few words, which reflects his personal emotional intelligence and cultivation. Some people may say that I just want to show my true nature. Of course, true temperament is good, but if everyone in the workplace wants true temperament without taking into account other people's feelings, it will only make things more complicated. Therefore, books such as "the art of speaking" are popular. Of course, the purpose is to make the listener comfortable, do things smoothly, benefit others and win both of one's own lives. This is the way to solve the problem.
Third, the value of the questions asked by Subhuti is worth learning. Subhuti’s question is, “Good man. Good woman. Develop the Anuttara Samyaksambodhi mind. How should we stay and subdue our minds?” Why is Subhuti’s question a good question, because his cultivation and realm can be seen from his questions.
will ask questions, and it is a valuable and good question, reflecting the depth of learning. Because there will be no problems without learning, only thinking will cause doubts. If you don’t study carefully and carefully enough, and if you don’t think deeply enough, there will be no good problems. Therefore, by asking questions, you can see a person’s learning ability and learning effect.
says that the question raised by Subhuti is a good question, not just because the Tathagata Buddha praised him, but as long as we experience it carefully, we can naturally feel that it is a good question. Because he does not ask questions from the Tathagata Buddha from a personal perspective, but asks questions from the perspective of sentient beings, which is equivalent to asking questions on behalf of those who want to practice Buddhism but do not know how to get started. Therefore, the value and significance of a good question are immeasurable, and this is precisely the primary problem that Buddhism needs to solve, that is, how to make more people believe in Buddhism and how to preach Buddhism.
It is precisely because of this good question raised by Venerable Subhuti that the Diamond Sutra told by Sakyamuni Buddha is in line with the principle that only the cause can be caused, and all the result is the cause.
