Current abbot Miaoxiang returned to Liaoning in 1995 from the foot of Wutai Mountain in Shanxi Province. He was in seclusion in Benxi's for three years. In 2000, he was invited by the local government and believers of Haicheng, and led the monastic community to Dafeng Temple.
