Why is Guanyin also called Guanyin ? Ancient Sanskrit, transliterated by Guanyin Bodhisattva, was called Guanyin because it avoided the "world" of Emperor Taizong of Tang , , Li Shimin. Master Xuanzang translated it as Guan Zizai.

Guanyin statue, changed from a male statue to a female statue, referring to the appearance of Wu Zetian , so the Guanyin statue in the South China Sea we see now has the sound and appearance of Wu Zetian!

Why is Guanyin Temple built in Putuo Mountain? There are two reasons. One is that it is said that a plague occurred in the local area. In order to save the people from suffering, Guanyin floated down to the South China Sea to save the suffering from Prince Long. In order to thank the Bodhisattva, people established the Guanyin temple here; the other is that at the time of , a famous Japanese monk saw a wooden Bodhisattva on Mount Wutai, Shanxi. He loved it very much and took improper means to carry it with him. When he wanted to take a boat back to Japan here, he was blocked by the twelve iron lotus floating. The monk knelt down and prayed. If he could return to the country smoothly, he would leave the Bodhisattva, and the iron lotus would then sink to make way for the water. So, Japanese monks came here and worshipped Bodhisattvas in two houses voluntarily offered by the people. People used this as a Bodhisattva's temple, and incense gradually became popular.

There are two stories that can illustrate the magic of Nanhai Guanyin . First, in 1997, when the Guanyin Bodhisattva was consecrated, it rained heavily, and everyone was very anxious. However, when the host, Master Jie Ren, announced that the consecration ceremony, , the sun shone suddenly and Buddha light appeared. This incident has been reported by many TV stations, and it should be true! Second, in 2015, the fierce "Canhong" typhoon attacked. According to the predictions of the United States, Japan and the Chinese Meteorological Observatory, they would endanger Putuo . However, after the typhoon landed on Zhujiajian , it miraculously turned around and headed northeast at 45 degrees, which was very magical. There is also a stone carving commemoration of the turning of this typhoon here. You can go and have a look while traveling!

According to local fishermen, since the existence of Guanyin Bodhisattva, Typhoon has almost no destructive harm again!
