Master Shi Zhenyuan was born in 1969 in a small mountain village with simple folk customs in the northeastern countryside. The layman's surname is Li. Under the influence of his mother, he began to come into contact with Buddhism at an early age, studied the classics, and gained a deep understanding. Later, he felt that there was more suffering than happiness in the world, so he saw through the mortal world and became a monk in his prime. Under the guidance of Elder Xuyun in a dream, he went to Zhenru Zen Temple in Yunju Mountain, Jiangxi Province to receive the monk's ordination. He has been a monk for more than 20 years.
After Master Shi Zhenyuan became a monk, he determined to practice asceticism. He traveled for many years and visited famous mountains and ancient temples. During his years of life in Yunshui, he gradually sharpened his temperament, improved his own practice, and retreated to meditate many times. In meditation, I received enlightenment from Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and my wisdom was greatly expanded. I learned poetry, calligraphy and painting without any teacher, and formed my own school. My Zen poems and paintings had profound artistic conceptions.
