in Journey to the West in the Tathagata Buddha
Shakyamuni Buddha
In "Journey to the West", Tathagata Buddha is the Buddha of the West, Lingshan Buddhist leader, and his status is respected.
"Journey to the West" Chapter 7 "The Great Sage Escape from the Eight Trigrams Furnace, and the Mindful Ape Under the Five Elements Mountain", the Buddha Tathagata went to capture the demon monkey according to the will of the Jade Emperor . Sun Wukong asked who came? Tathagata laughed and said, "I am the Venerable Sakyamuni in the Western Paradise, Namo Amitabha .
In real religion, any Buddhist knows that the leader of the Western Paradise is Amitabha Buddha, and Sakyamuni Buddha is the leader of our Saha world. These are simply two Buddhas, and it is impossible to call a Buddha. However, because of the widespread spread of "Journey to the West", the name of Tathagata Buddha is deeply rooted in people's hearts. Most people confuse Tathagata Buddha in the TV series with Sakyamuni Buddha.
The name Tathagata Buddha is also wrong in Buddhism, because Tathagata and Buddha are both common names for all Buddhas, and do not mean a certain Buddha. Just like you, Mr., cannot say that it is someone.
Buddha is the abbreviation of Buddha, Buddha means self-awareness, other enlightenment, or supreme enlightenment, and all merits are perfect. Originally, the Buddha had ten thousand names, but later people became dull, so they gradually briefly summed up ten names.
The ten names of Buddha are different because of different opening and closing, but their meanings are the same, generally referring to: Tathagata, offerings, omniscience, wisdom and practice, good deeds, worldly understanding, supreme scholar, control husband, heavenly teacher, and worldly honor. If "Buddha" is added, it is actually eleven. The ten numbers of Buddha mentioned in other sutras and treatises are to combine worldly understanding, supreme scholar into one, or combine Buddha and worldly honor, or combine supreme scholar into one, etc.
