Master Xuyun died when his grandmother was 17 years old, and he went back to his hometown with his father to bury his grandmother. At the funeral of his grandmother, he saw monks doing things on the sidelines, which aroused his great interest. Before, he learned the Dharma through books, but now he saw the monks doing things with his own eyes. For a while, Master Xuyun seemed to be touched by something. , I feel that this is what I want to pursue, and since then I have forged an indissoluble bond with the Buddha.

After studying for a period of time, it seemed that he could not satisfy Master Xuyun’s quest for Buddhist scriptures. There was a thought that lingered in his heart, and he wanted to find it. Because he had communicated with his father before, he said that he wanted to go out and study Buddhism, but he was rejected by his father. When he wanted to leave home secretly, his father found him and arrested him. For such a son, his father said nothing would let him go to become a monk.

In order to get him to dispel that idea, and to find him a wife and become a family, he also forcibly locked them together, but Master Xuyun did not touch his wife.

As Master Xuyun wanted to go to the real Buddhism to learn, even in the face of all kinds of obstacles from his family, he still refused to give up and did not waver.

Until the age of 19, he went to a temple in Fuzhou and officially became a monk at Yongquan Temple in Gushan. Since then, he has spent all his thoughts on studying Buddhist scriptures. He has painstakingly practiced and studied Buddhist Dharma in temples, and he has set himself up to strict standards.

After he became a monk, Master Xuyun practiced diligently, day and night, sleepless nights and nights, and studied Buddhism every day. After only a few years, he read many Buddhist scriptures and practiced in this temple for nearly ten years. He felt My own practice is not enough, I have no new clues to the Buddhist scriptures, and I need to continue to deepen my practice.

He left Gushan to seek a deeper Buddhist meaning, and continued to practice in Yunnan for more than 20 years. The last time I practiced in the meditation hall, in the 23rd year of Guangxu,Master Xuyun suddenly felt like he was waking up from a dream, he had got an epiphany, his spirit was raised to a level, and he was sublimated. From then on, Master Xuyun decided to walk out of the temple.

Master Xuyun often sleeps on the streets, but he still does not forget to use his own power to help the people wherever he goes.

Wherever Master Xuyun goes, he will bring spiritual baptism and spiritual comfort to the suffering people, and use Buddhist scriptures and methods to soothe the wounded hearts of people.

Later he also established a branch of Buddhism, recruited disciples, cultivated capable people, continued to promote Buddhism, and made great contributions to the development of Buddhism by his own strength. During this period, he also won The title of "First Eminent Monk".

Master Xuyun has been traveling around the world for the second half of his life, dedicated to publicizing and promoting the development of Buddhism. When Master Xuyun was practicing, the social background was constantly changing. From the Opium War to the Reform Movement to the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he has experienced and sometimes participated in a series of major historical events.

During the War of Resistance, Master Xuyun would also pray for the soldiers, donate the temple incense money to the army for war, and use his fame and influence to call on people to donate to the country.

In addition, Master Xuyun often opens Buddhist gates to take in those poor people who have suffered from wars and have nowhere to go, and give them porridge for free.

Master Xuyun is a person who really cares about the sufferings of the world. He is always doing his best to help people who are suffering. The origin of the virtual cloud

until Master Fucheng went to show him that he was meditating during the Lunar New Year, and asked him if he had eaten, he opened the lid of the taro and found that the taro in the jar had already been frozen hard, and then he realized that the time had passed. It has been almost a month in the past, and since then I have changed my name to "Xuyun".
