03 Looking for free electric car charging piles in various states
Large amounts of electric car charging locations will provide unlimited free charging, or a free charging time limit of 30 minutes to 4 hours before paying. Some electric car charging stations located in parking lots charge only parking fees, while others may charge a fixed fee per charge, per kilowatt-hour consumption, or per hour.
Although California is ahead of other states in the number of free charging piles, California is actually the second-last among the top 10 states in terms of the usage ratio of charging piles, with only 11% of charging piles free of charge for 30 minutes or more.

Meanwhile, a $2.5 billion Discretionary Grant program aims to increase electric vehicle charging access in rural and burdensome communities, while the $3 billion of the Inflation Reduction Act is dedicated to supporting electric vehicle charging access in economically disadvantaged communities.
More than $10 billion will be invested in electric vehicle charging infrastructure over the next five years, with more than half of the funds going to be concentrated in underpowered communities, and charging pile availability across the United States will continue to improve in the next few years.
