Nvidia has reportedly removed LHR from its latest drivers, unlocking the full mining potential of the RTX 30 series.
Encrypted mining is not over yet, but it is far less important than 2 months ago, before Ethereum turned to proof of stake. It looks like Nvidia finally decided to disable the technology completely on their RTX 30 GPU, at least that's what the Reddit report suggests.
Redditor Timbers007 confirms that the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti (launched with LHR) is no longer affected by restrictions. This is using Ethminer on Windows operating systems, encryption software, and never has any unlocking capabilities. The screenshots provided show a mining speed of ~112 MH/s, matching what the unlock miners already offer by Nice Hash/NBMiner etc.

YouTuber Rapid Mining shows that RTX 3060 v2 (model with LHR) reaches 47 MH/s using the latest driver, and confirm again that LHR has been disabled.

Nvidia launched the LHR model in May 2021, but the algorithm was quickly bypassed by creative developers of mining tools. Eventually, LHR has been fully unlocked, which has had an impact on GPU pricing, but not too long. The LHR algorithm is a fast solution that affects all memory intensive crypto mining workloads. Nvidia had to re-release some graphics cards, but eventually, it was implemented in all RTX 30 series except the flagship RTX 3090 GPU.
According to Redditor, LHR has been reportedly removed from Windows and Linux drivers, meaning there is no longer a need to run miners for Erg or Ethereum Classic Mining with a privileged user account.
