Microsoft today launched Microsoft Team Premium, which aims to enhance its chat and collaboration applications with some artificial intelligence -powered smart features. The most noteworthy feature of this subscription is the meeting review feature, essentially adding an AI virtual assistant to each meeting to share highlights and automatically capture all the important parts. This way, even if you are not involved in the meeting, you can still review some important moments in the meeting. "Today you get a conference review, and after the meeting you get a recording and review sheet so you can get all the information so you don't have to spend too much time sorting out the information to find 'what is relevant or related to me'. What the smart review does is split the meeting into smart chapters".
The idea is that the feature reduces 40-minute meetings you may not be fully involved in to 10 minutes and highlights when you are mentioned or shared on the screen. If you have to leave the meeting early, you can return later and automatically catch up with the meeting you left.
Microsoft Teams Premium also includes a real-time translation feature supported by AI. "We are now rolling out live subtitles for translations, and in up to 40 languages we automatically translate from voice to text and other languages. It does support inclusive collaboration in the conference so anyone can participate and really track in their native language," said Heskovitz. This will be a big improvement for businesses whose teams are remote and often span multiple languages.
