On September 26, the Open Source Ecological Forum was held at in Wuzhen, Zhejiang. In the fourth session of the forum, Bao Yungang, deputy director of Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences , delivered a speech entitled "Introduction to the Ecological Construction Progress of China's Open Command Ecosystem (RISC-V) Alliance".

I want to report here on the construction of the China Open Directive Ecological Alliance. This alliance was announced at the Wuzhen World Internet Conference on November 8, 2018. Now it has more than 130 members and maintains close contact with the International Foundation. The increase from 26 initial members to 130 members has promoted the development of domestic RISC-V to a certain extent.
In the past few years, alliance members have also made some contributions in RISC-V. For example, the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Computing Technology has developed an open source high-performance RISC-V processor. The first version has been taped out, and the second version will be taped out early next year. Ali Pingtou and Allwinner Technology jointly released mass production, which is also one of the few technologies that have achieved mass production across the country. Xinlai Technology 900 series is the latest RISC-V processor, and has also developed a corresponding software development environment. The Shenzhen laboratory has launched the PicoRio small single-board computer, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences has also developed a teaching cloud platform for open source processors to support more students to develop chip processors online.
In terms of software ecology, Software Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences has done a lot of development work from the bottom tool chain to the compiler and application software. Last year, Ali Pingtou realized the operation on Xuantie 910 , which is a huge breakthrough for the software ecology. The Android minimal system is also implemented in the simulation environment where the software is located. A considerable number of domestic forces have made contributions to the software ecology.
There are also many projects in teaching. University of Chinese Academy of Sciences launched the "Lifetime One Core" teaching plan,Hope that undergraduate students can design chips. Integrating the internal teaching superiority of the Alliance span2span Professor Liu Peng teaches basic courses related to computer science.
I have never looked at it. Just now, many experts mentioned that the future RISC-V ecology is still expected, and even by 2030, RISC-V will have a place in the data center.
Generally speaking, application drivers, software and hardware collaboration, rapid customization, and vertical optimization will become more and more important. The combination of open source software and open source hardware is an effective way to deal with the new features of the future.
