1 October 8 is National Hypertension Day . The latest "China Cardiovascular Health and Disease Report 2021" shows that the number of patients with hypertension and in adults over 18 years old in my country has reached 245 million. The awareness rate of hypertension is only 46.9%, less than half. Remind the general public not to feel that it is okay if you don’t have symptoms of headache or fatigue. Little do they know that complications of hypertension often occur in occult conditions and may have been severe when detected.
[Treatment: Standardized medication and frequent blood pressure testing]
A year ago, Mr. Lu from Nanjing tested his bleeding pressure during a physical examination to reach 180. However, since I did not have any discomfort symptoms, I didn’t care and did not take antihypertensive drugs. Until this year, my blood pressure soared to 200, and I hurried to the hospital for treatment. After detailed medical history collection and related examinations, Mr. Lu was diagnosed with cerebral infarction .
Gu Minglin, chief physician of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine of Jiangsu Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, said: "Blood pressure is measured, not perceived. Normal people must measure blood pressure at least once every six months or a year. If you have hypertension, you need to test it more."
Doctor said that once blood pressure is not well controlled for a long time, it will greatly increase the risk of a series of complications such as heart, kidney, and cerebrovascular diseases. Most of these risk factors are hiding and often lead to vascular lesions when detected, and even serious myocardial infarction, stroke, and other diseases.
For patients with hypertension, the first thing to do is to use medication in standardized treatment. The choice of antihypertensive drugs varies from person to person and from time to time. Patients with hypertension must use drugs in a standardized manner under the guidance of a professional doctor. At the same time, patients must measure their blood pressure on time when they are at home.
Gu Minglin said: "We advocate using an arm-type electronic blood pressure meter, that is, to measure the waist. In terms of time, for example, after getting up in the morning, before breakfast, even before taking medicine, calculate the average value, and then test it once or twice before going to bed at night to calculate the average value."
[Prevention: Reasonable dietary balance and control blood lipids and blood sugar]
Prevention of hypertension is also important. At present, hypertension is becoming younger and younger, and obesity, alcohol consumption, smoking, etc. will increase the chance of illness.
Gu Minglin said: "Limit salt, control weight, eat a reasonable diet, balance emotions, and control blood lipids and blood sugar."
"control your mouth" and "learning your legs" must "take a two-pronged approach". For example, brisk walking is a good way, keeping the speed at about 1 km and 10 minutes, and persisting for 30 to 50 minutes a day.
