Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Traditional Chinese medicine has unique advantages and a long history of planting Chinese medicinal materials. In June 2022, the General Office of the Provincial Government issued the "Implementation Plan for the Construction of a National Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone in Guangdong Province", which clearly proposed to build a comprehensive reform demonstration zone for traditional Chinese medicine that leads the whole country, serves the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and radiates the "Belt and Road".
Xu Qingfeng introduced that currently, there are 38 third-class traditional Chinese medicine hospitals and 75 second-class traditional Chinese medicine hospitals in Guangdong Province. 1,805 traditional Chinese medicine clinics have been built, basically achieving full coverage of townships (communities). The proportion of traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment in primary medical and health institutions accounts for 31.19%, ranking among the top in the country. Guangdong has 132 traditional Chinese medicine and ethnic medical service projects included in the provincial medical insurance diagnosis and treatment project catalog, selected 169 types of hospitalized diseases with advantage in traditional Chinese medicine, established a unified score database for hospitalized diseases with advantage in traditional Chinese medicine in the province, and primary medical institutions carry out traditional Chinese medicine services such as chronic diseases and medical rehabilitation to achieve medical insurance reimbursement.
Xu Qingfeng said that building a national comprehensive reform demonstration zone for traditional Chinese medicine is a major mission entrusted to Guangdong by the state. He introduced the current development situation of traditional Chinese medicine in Guangdong Province from the perspectives of policies and regulations, financial guarantees, talent training, scientific and technological innovation, industrial development, grassroots traditional Chinese medicine development, and traditional Chinese medicine's participation in the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in detail; and explained the "Implementation Plan for the Construction of a National Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone in Guangdong Province" in depth around the "Five Highland Construction" and "Four Mechanism Innovation".
Xu Qingfeng called on all localities to unify their thoughts and actions with the deployment of the provincial party committee and the provincial government, combine their own actual situation, work hard to solve the problems of the system and mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine, and make good use of the key move of reform.
