The National Health Insurance Administration has reduced the price of drugs for rare diseases by negotiating access to drugs for rare diseases. According to the Director of the Medical Service Management Department of the National Medical Insurance Administration, Huang Huabo , the 19 new rare disease drugs have been added through negotiations to enter the medical insurance drug catalog, with an average price reduction of 52.6%.
Huang Huabo said that considering that some negotiated drugs, including drugs for rare diseases, have high prices, low frequency of use, and certain difficulties in hospital equipment, my country has established a "dual channel" mechanism to allow advanced pharmacies for negotiated drugs that are not equipped by the hospital for the time being, and implement the same reimbursement policy as the hospital to alleviate the "urgent" of patients' medication.
