Difficulty in seeing a doctor has always been a problem that troubles the people. I think the main causes of difficulty in seeing a doctor come from four gaps.
1. Quantity
The quantitative gap mainly includes human resources gap and material resources gap. With the increase in investment in material resources, the allocation of material resources has been gradually solved. The key to the problem lies in the lack of doctors. The United States has more than 300 million people, accounting for 4.5% of the world's population, and its expenditure on medical resources accounts for 13.6% of the world's population; while China's population accounts for 18.8% of the world's population, but medical resources account for only 2% of the world's medical resources. It can be seen that my country is facing a serious shortage of medical talents.
A data shows that in the past 10 years, the proportion of doctors aged 25 to 34 in China has dropped from 31.3% to 22.6%, while the proportion of doctors aged 60 has increased from 2.5% to 11.6%. Due to frequent medical violence and medical disputes, the proportion of medical students applying for medical students has decreased year by year, and the proportion of graduated medical students has also declined after medical reform . This has led to a serious shortage of reserves of medical talents in my country.
2. Quality
The quality gap is mainly reflected in the imbalance of medical standards. The medical level of first-tier cities is comparable to that of developed countries, and second-tier cities basically reach the average level of developed countries, while most third- and fourth-tier cities, from medical management, medical facilities to medical technology, are far from developed countries. Grade A hospital has a high medical level and is overcrowded, while other small and medium-sized hospitals are deserted. This shows that there are obvious differences in the degree of recognition of different hospitals among Chinese people.
3. Knowledge
Doctors have professional medical knowledge. Patients can only better understand their condition through the doctor, and their initiative is completely in the hands of the doctor. Once trust is lacking, patients will be worried that the doctor will make decisions that are unfavorable to them through this advantage, but they will not be able to distinguish them; or when patients are confused about the diagnosis and treatment of the disease, they do not have the professional knowledge to judge the condition and diagnosis, and thus feel confused and helpless. Especially when there is difficulty in diagnosis or treatment of diseases, this gap has worsened the adverse experience of patients in seeing a doctor, and even caused extreme events such as medical disturbances and medical violence.
4. Value
Medical students have a long training cycle and high academic requirements. After years of training and assessment, they can finally become doctors; they continue to experience the high test of science, teaching and research at work, and the work intensity and pressure are high, so doctors naturally reveal their demands for high income from their hearts, believing that they deserve something to be gained. However, patients believe that seeing a doctor is a survival need. If you can’t even look down on the disease, how can you talk about survival security? The gap between doctors’ high income needs and patients’ desire to seek medical treatment creates this value gap. Only when someone pays for this gap can the problem of expensive medical treatment be solved.
The configuration of various insurances is an important way to solve the value gap. However, there are too many problems to be solved. I hope that one day, when we become patients, there will be no longer "difficulties".
