Jingming point belongs to the Foot Taiyang Bladder Meridian, and is the intersection point of Hand Taiyang Small Intestine Meridian , Foot Taiyang Bladder Meridian, Foot Yangming Stomach Meridian , Yang Qiao Meridian, and Yin Qiao Meridian. It has the effects of dispelling heat, improving eyesight, dispelling wind and dredging collaterals. According to its acupoint properties, it is commonly used clinically to treat acute (chronic) conjunctivitis, optic neuritis , dacryocystitis , optic atrophy , retinitis , keratitis , electro-optical disease in Western medicine. Ophthalmia , early mild cataract , myopia, hyperopia, facial nerve palsy, tachycardia , acute low back pain, etc.
This acupoint was first seen in the "Acupuncture and Moxibustion Classic A and B": "Unclear eyes, aversion to wind, tears in the eyes and aversion to cold... itching and pain in the canthus, white skin on the skin, and clear eyesight." Eyes are eyes, and Ming means bright. This point is in the eye area and has the function of brightening eyes, so it is called Jingming. Alias: inner canthus , tear hole, tear hole, shrewdness, tear cavity.

[Anatomy]

[Acupoint selection method]
Sit in the supine or supine position. Select a point in the depression on the medial wall of the orbit above the medial canthus of the eye.
[Indications]
1, red and swollen eyes, tearing, blurred vision, dizziness, myopia, night blindness, color blindness, dry eye and other eye diseases;
2, acute lumbar sprain, sciatica;
3, palpitation , stunned.
[Operation method]
Instruct the patient to close his eyes. The doctor presses his hand to gently push the eyeball to the outside to fix it. The puncture hand slowly inserts the needle and inserts 0.5 to 1 inch straight close to the orbital rim. When encountering resistance, it is not advisable to forcefully insert the needle, and the direction of needle insertion should be changed or the needle should be withdrawn. It is not suitable to carry out large-scale lifting, insertion or twisting. There may be local soreness and swelling, and the needle sensation may spread to the eyeball and surrounding areas. When removing the needle, be sure to press the needle hole with a cotton ball for a moment to avoid internal bleeding. The needles should be fine and the disinfection should be strict. Direct moxibustion is prohibited.
[Commonly used combinations]
1, with Chengqi , Shangming, to treat optic atrophy.
2, combined with Gu, and four whites , can treat eye nebula.
3. Cooperate with Gu, Fengchi to treat conjunctivitis , red, swollen and painful eyes, and itchy eyes.
4, combined with Ganshu, Guangming, Sibai, to treat myopia, astigmatism.
5, after matching the ball, Guangming, Fengchi, Taichong , treating glaucoma .
6. Use it with Tongziliao to treat exotropia ;
7. Use it with Gu and Taichong to treat esotropia .

Jingming point is one of the important acupoints for eye protection. Regular rubbing of Jingming point can help relax the tissues around the eyes, reduce eye dryness and relieve visual fatigue. Specific method: Use the thumb or index finger pulp to massage the Jingming points on both sides 100 to 200 times at the same time, and you can persist every day. Wash your hands before massaging to prevent bacteria on your hands from contaminating your eyes.
