Confident people will say, "I believe in my intuition." When facing problems, do you need a reason? No, that is the responsibility of reason.
Intuition is reliable? Let’s first look at the explanation in "Social Psychology": Thinking, memory and attitude all operate at two levels at the same time: one is conscious and purposeful; the other is unconscious and automatic . And this unconscious and automatic thinking pattern is intuition.

Nobel Prize winner Daniel Kahneman proposed in "Thinking, Fast and Slow ": System 1 and 2 are two working modes of the brain. System 1 is characterized by fast speed, high efficiency, and automatic operation, but the judgments drawn are usually unreliable; System 2 is just the opposite, slow speed and low efficiency, but can be controlled independently, and will draw more reliable conclusions based on various factors. They correspond to intuition and reason.
For example, when you see the news title "The chairman of a company jumped off a building yesterday and died", does a thought immediately pop up in your mind: either going bankrupt or being investigated. But is this really the case? What if it is caused by family reasons? This process of thinking without thinking is intuition. It is not only logical or related to the conclusions drawn, but also its most prominent feature.
The rational nature is lazy, it tends to accept the results that it feels first, and it will not be lazy to perform regulatory responsibilities unless you call or activate it. Even if it really comes forward, it will follow the principle of slow work and meticulous work, extract relevant knowledge and experience in the brain one by one, and finally give a conclusion through careful thinking and judgment.
We look at the difference between the two from an evolutionary perspective. Intuition comes from survival instinct. When our ancestors see abnormal movements in the grass, regardless of whether there are wild animals hidden inside, intuition will make him run away immediately and survive. The cerebral cortex, which is responsible for rational thinking, evolved in the later stages and is much weaker than a strong intuition. This is also the fundamental reason why it is difficult for us to fully realize rationality.
In this way, intuition is really unreliable, and rationality is needed to be checked if necessary. For example, when we see news of plane crashes, we may not dare to take the plane for a period of time, and would rather drive long distances or take other means of transportation. According to the report of National Security Council , from 2005 to 2007, the flight safety was 230 times that of cars, and aircraft were still one of the safest means of transportation.
However, don’t forget that sometimes we need to make a judgment in an instant and act immediately, and at this time we can only rely on strong intuition. For example, if you are driving, a small animal suddenly runs out of the roadside; you will suddenly feel a clear tremor when you watch TV at home; any mistake in judgment will bring serious consequences. For people with special professions such as firefighters and special forces, they will rely more on intuitive judgment.
So, intuition is a double-edged sword, and in Social Psychology, it is described as powerful and dangerous. So how can we effectively utilize its advantages so as to play to our strengths and avoid our weaknesses?
still needs to find the reason from the principle. Although intuition is independent operation and is not controlled by thinking, it is not a tree without roots or a water without source. Its judgment is based on personal knowledge, experience, experience, and conditioned reflexes after training. We can constantly practice and strengthen it according to the direction we need to improve.
