This release replaces the old version used since 2020. In the revision, ISO was closely watching stakeholders such as speakers, interpreters and platform providers of remote simultaneous services to more effectively regulate the use of technology in the field.

September 16, Naomi Bowman, ISO 24019 project editor and president of DS Translation Company of the United States, said in his statement: "The new standard is designed to ensure that translators can work under reasonable and safe working conditions, so that participants can get the expected convenience. (Standard) achieves these goals in a unique, clear and novel way: regulating the technology provided by the platform; clarifying the responsibilities and relationships of each stakeholder; and requiring them to work together to achieve compliance."

Bowman pointed out in his statement that early versions of the 24019 standard focused mainly on the technical support behind the platform, in order to provide basic quality standards for the newly emerging remote simultaneous market. Bowman wrote: "If the speaker does not use a qualified microphone, resulting in poor sound quality of the sound, then platform providers cannot provide interpreters with high-quality audio input, reducing interpreters' work ability and audience experience." She explained the need to revise the 2020 standard. The revision of
