Recently, the survey and evaluation report on the biodiversity background resources of the Huayin section and Huazhou section of the northern foot of the Qinling Mountains in Weinan, led by the Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau, passed the expert review, marking that the survey on the biodiversity in the Huayin section and Huazhou section of the Qinling Mountains in Weinan City has achieved phased results, laying the foundation for regional biodiversity protection .
There is 1 nature reserve in the Huayin section and Huazhou section of the Qinling District of Weinan City (Shaanxi Province Giant Salamander Aquatic Wildlife Provincial Nature Reserve), 3 forest parks (Shaanxi Province Shaohuashan National Forest Natural Park, Shaanxi Province Huashan Provincial Forest Natural Park, Shaanxi Province Qiaoyu Provincial Forest Natural Park), 1 wetland nature park (Shaanxi Huayin Taihua Lake National Wetland Natural Park), 1 scenic spot (Huashan Scenic Spot), and 2 geological parks (Shaanxi Huashan National Geological Nature Park, Shaanxi Huaxian Shaohuashan Geological Park). The rivers and valleys in the territory are crisscrossed, vegetation is lush, and wildlife resources are rich, making them a region with high biodiversity.
2021, the Weinan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government successively issued the "Implementation Opinions on Promoting Green Development and Building a Beautiful Weinan" and the "Weinan City Work Plan for Promoting Green Development and Building a Beautiful Weinan (2021-2023)", proposing that we should further strengthen the ecological protection of the Qinling and Yellow River basins and promote high-quality development. In August 2021, the Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau launched a survey and assessment of the biodiversity background resources of the Huazhou section, Huayin section, and the Yellow River Wetlands in the northern foothills of the Qinling Mountains and the Tongguan section. It took a year to conduct a census of animal and plant resources in relevant areas, focusing on finding out the distribution of rare and endangered wild animals and plant species in the area, establishing wild animal and plant resource archives, biodiversity databases and information platforms to provide a basis for subsequent special investigations of rare and endangered animals and plant species.
This Huayin section and Huazhou section Qinling area background resource survey, a total of 1,192 species of 129 families, 514 genera, 266 species of vertebrates (including fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and animals) were investigated and sorted on the spot. Huayin section 2 vascular plants (including ferns, gymnosperms, angiosperms) 129 families, 514 genera, 1,192 species of vertebrates (including fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and animals) were found. During the investigation, more than ten national key protected species such as Huashan New Wheat Grass , Purple Spot Peony , Lianxiang Tree , wild soybeans, Tianma , as well as more than 50 rare wild animals such as Musk Musk , Hair Crown Deer , Chinese Verae, Yellow-throated mink , Golden Eagle , Sparrow Eagle , Spoon Chicken , Red-bellied Golden Eagle , Eagle Owl , Orange Winged Noise, Qinling Fine Scale , Giant Salamander , Giant Salamander and more than 50 rare wild animals, including , Qinling Fine Scale Salmon , Giant Salamander , First-hand Information for subsequent protection and management work. Based on the investigation results and combined with the specific situation of Weinan , the investigation team conducted a comprehensive assessment of the current status of biodiversity endowment in the northern foothills of the Qinling Mountains, and proposed protection measures from thirteen aspects, including strengthening the monitoring of dynamic changes in biodiversity, increasing the construction and management of nature reserves, improving the biodiversity protection system, strengthening scientific research on biodiversity protection, carrying out biodiversity protection publicity and education, strengthening the supervision of alien species, improving the ecological compensation system, preventing the continuous decline of species populations, accelerating the construction of germplasm resource banks, and improving the participation of private forces.
Next step, the Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau will continue to conduct a survey on the biodiversity background resource of the Tongguan section and Linwei section of the northern foothills of the Qinling Mountains, further understand the basic data, accumulate information, and continue to carry out biodiversity protection work in the Qinling Mountains region, and promote the continuous improvement of the ecological environment quality of the Qinling Mountains.
